Auto FPS automatically adds airport traffic

Whenever I launch Auto FPS it automatically changes the in game settings to improve performance and quality, however it also adds airport traffic and parked aircraft, and I can't turn it off unless I close Auto FPS completely. My MSFS UserCfg.opt file is not set to read-only. Is there a setting which allows me to turn this airport traffic completely off?

Your log clearly shows that when AutoFPS starts and before it changes anything, your MSFS default aircraft traffic settings are already set to medium:

Then, while in a flight session, you attempt to change them and it changes them back. It tells you exactly why in a message box, namely AutoFPS is currently controlling these settings - don't do that while in a flight session with AutoFPS running, but you continue to do so despite this warning with the same result every time.

Is there a setting which allows me to turn this airport traffic completely off?

The simple answer is, per the message you keep seeing, only change these settings when either AutoFPS is not running or you are not in a flight session. Then, when AutoFPS is running it may reduce, but never increase above what was originally set, the settings in question and it will always restore them to what they were on exit.

The traffic and parked aircraft settings have always been off. The new update for AutoFPS turns everything back on. I ended up closing the app completely and ran the flight without it, saved with traffic and parked settings off. I tried again yesterday to open AutoFPS while at the gate and it turned airport traffic and parked aircraft on.

Please attach the log from this flight you did yesterday where the app supposedly turned these settings back on and I will see if it is anything different to the first log you attached where it clearly showed these settings were on when you started AutoFPS. Also, attach your UserCfg.opt file so I can look at that as well.

For any future runs where you want to clearly demonstrate this issue, please enable Log+ as marked in red below, which will enable detailed logging that records every change the app makes to any setting like this:

I just rechecked that AutoFPS is using the correct memory offsets for MSFS 2024 1.7.27.0 for those two settings and it is:



Nothing in your original log indicates that these settings were ever touched, as your flight did not trigger settings reduction where they could have been reduced, and that the original values read from the UserCfg.opt file were both medium, not off as you state. Are you absolutely sure something else isn't changing your UserCfg.opt before you start AutoFPS?

For the next time, start your flight session without AutoFPS running, go into MSFS settings and screenshot those two settings, go back to the flight and start AutoFPS (making sure Log+ is enabled as previously suggested) then once it has connected to the the flight session and settled, go back into MSFS setting and screenshot those two settings again. Send me the log and those two screenshots.
