I don't have a Linux machine to test with, and I am not really interested in having a hands-on approach to the Linux build other than its compilation. The Windows and macOS builds work absolutely fine when compiled, it's seriously uniquely a Linux issue that despite compiling fine, it does not work for everyone. I cannot be reasonably expected to support Linux quirks when everything constantly changes, there's cross distro differences, etc.

Please feel free to submit any PRs that improve the Linux situation of gmpublisher.

That being said, as of writing, I believe there is a possible build/CI issue where gmpublisher could reasonably ship its dependencies as part of its release, instead of relying on package managers and dynamic linking. However, I don't know absolutely anything about that, so I would appreciate any contributions to actually producing a distro-agnostic self-contained application...

@Lythium4848 was already able to do this with Arch at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gmpublisher-bin and I am happy to include any other things you guys invent in the CI/CD processes.

For purposes of submitting PRs, what steps you take on Windows to build & test the application?

Those are reproducible steps to build the application across all OS 🙂

I think i tried to get a Flatpak working a while ago but it was a nightmare as this is still Tauri v1, I dont really know enough about Tauri or Rust to update it

Im on CachyOS, I just went through and fully got gmpublisher working and built a appimage. I can upload the entire build with all working deps to help out. I just need to know where to upload and who to link it to! Thank you @WilliamVenner for your hard work on this

If we can get an AppImage built (+ published (?)) in here automatically whenever I tag a release, that'd be ideal.

Don't care if Claude does it. Even if you posted a "guide" here on how to build it I'm sure I could get Claudey to do the CI?

Was it a complex process to get working?
