Although we have the text input suggestions prop, intended for this use case, our component is not adapted to be a proper search field.
- It lacks the appropriate
role="search" or type="input" HTML element.
- Our current input must be marked rather optional or required, which neither of these options fits well for a search input, which is not part of a form (understanding form as a UI, not an HTML element).
My suggestion for this problem is to solve it by implementing a new DxcSearchInput component with all the specific functionality to fulfill all the requirements.
