Is Grass Network Using Cursed Chrome?

I recently came across [this article regarding Get Grass](https://sagerunner.net/get-grass-extension-is-spying-on-you-hack-warning/) (Extension with millions of users) and claims that it is using cursed chrome tech? I Know this slightly offtopic but from security point of a view i need to know.
