Freezes on IOS31 analysis

When running the Wii on NEEK2O (USB) this app freezes on IOS31 analysis. The WiiMote disconnects and even RESET does not bring the Wii back to life. In stead a power cycle is required.

I once was able to run the SysCheck HansDen Edition on 24.06.2023 sucessfully. But now it also freezes on IOS31 analysis.

Odd to be running this on an emulated nand, instead just use showmiiwads or something to see what's installed.

In any case, freezing on particular IOSs can happen even when run in real nands. Have u tried using arguments to skip the problematic IOS? More info here https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

It's likely u got something funny installed to that ios slot, and if it was "sane" it wouldn't freeze syscheck.

Well, since the emunand has been created from the sysnand, it contains the very same installations.

instead just use showmiiwads or something to see what's installed.

Do they natively run under Linux?

Showmiiwads is windows only, but you can use WiiPy with the command "emunand info "

Of course not. That's why, and because the emunand contains the same IOS, I'm so confused and think it's an error in the SysCheck.

Yes, it keeps running till the end.

I have one more guess. RiiConnect24 has patched IOS31. Could it be that SysCheckME has problems with it?

It shouldn't, also is a patched ios31 still even needed for RiiConnect24/WiiLink (real Q, I don't recall off the top of my head)? And is that what you've got installed to real nand? What does WiiPy report for ios31? Once you share exactly what you've got in IOS31 we'll be able to dig a bit deeper.

Again though, syscheck is designed to work on real nand. Considering it wasn't intended to be run on emunand it seems to be doing half decent, lol. With some luck, more info, and maybe some help from others on the team we can improve it further

Sure. But shouldn't NEEK2O behave like a real nand?

I once installed patched IOS31 for RiiConnect24 to NAND and EMUNAND.

And then came WiiLink24 and their patcher doesn't generate a patched IOS31 WAD. Honestly, I don't know anymore if I installed the original IOS31 on top of it or if I'm still using the patched one from RiiConnect24. How could I recognize this?

Can you try installing a clean IOS31 to your emunand, overwriting what you have now, and see if that resolves your issues. This can be done with WiiPy, ShowMiiWads, ModMii, or by installing it to real nand and dumping your emunand again

Installing the IOS31-64-v3608.wad lets SysCheck continue running. As curious as I am, I have compared the files before and after. Only the TMD differs, the APP are identical (same for SYSNAND). What does that mean? And why does this only happen in the EMUNAND and not in the SYSNAND?

Additionally, I noticed that returning to the HBC freezes the console. I haven't observed this issue with other homebrew software.
