We support current LTS versions: Java 8, 11, 17, 21 and 25 - all libraries will run under these versions of Java.
Java 25 support was added in the 2026 release series as of BOM 2026.20.
We support Oracle’s JDK, OpenJDK (including popular distributions such as Azul Zulu), and Azul Platform Prime (AKA Zing).
When starting a JVM explicitly using the java command, the follow command line parameters need to be passed in:

Even though not all of them are strictly required, we recommend providing the same command line options for Java 11 as for Java 17, Java 21 and Java 25 as this will remove some warnings in the output logs. |
Almost all libraries are built in Java 8 and are subsequently tested under Java 8, Java 11, Java 17, Java 21, and Java 25 as a part of our continuous integration process. However, some libraries may also be build with more recent Java version as described here:
These libraries compile on either Java 8, 11, 17, 21, 25 and pass all the tests under the version built and higher.
