Feature wish(s) for submodules

Hi,

I'd like to propose two enhancement with submodules:

1. multiselect submodule for operations, especially opening in seperate tabs
2. better indicate status of submodules (changes not committed, committed but not pushed) - currently, as far as I can tell, it just shows changed revisions (even if that might be caused by my local gitconfig).
