Why

Node.js published its October 2026 security releases on 2026-10-21. The 24.x line ships fixes for HIGH severity issues, including a Brotli decoder out-of-bounds write that permits remote code execution (CVE-2026-111497) and TLS/DNS certificate-validation bypasses.

Advisory: https://nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerability/october-2026-security-releases

Changes

Pins the patched Node.js 24.22.1 runtime everywhere this repository declares it:

  • .nvmrc
  • package.json — engines.node raised to >=24.22.1 <25
  • .github/workflows/*.yml — every actions/setup-node step (ci, desktop, windows-mcp-recovery, windows-model-persistence, windows-server-render, windows-whisper-runtime)

Verification

  • Diff contains only runtime version pins; no application code or lockfile changes.
  • The existing >=24 <25 range is preserved, narrowed only at the patched floor.

Note

Opened from a fork (Ilyed/OpenChatCut) because I do not have write access to the upstream repository.

Node.js published the 2026-10-21 security releases. This pins the patched
24.x runtime everywhere the toolchain declares it:

- .nvmrc
- package.json engines
- GitHub Actions workflows (node-version)

Fixes CVE-2026-105482, CVE-2026-105483, CVE-2026-106069, CVE-2026-111497
and the accompanying medium/low advisories.
