(Apologies for the large PR, big refactor to include the CLI)
Adding a daemon used to mean copying two files into /etc/hispec by hand and enabling the unit, and people often re-ran install.sh

  • Now we have a hispec command. hispec deploy <name> copies the instance files from the repo, enables the daemon at boot and starts it. The same command also covers start/stop/restart for one daemon or a whole subsystem (hispec start fei), plus enable/disable, status, logs and doctor.
  • It replaces hispec-fei-start, hispec-fei-stop and hispec-doctor, which are removed.
  • deploy doesn't overwrite a deployed config that differs from the repo unless you pass --force.
  • hispec-enable is kept in case of python venv issues
