Summary

NOTICE named Hugo Payet alone, although another person wrote code that is still here, and Apache-2.0 does not transfer their copyright. It did not give the repository's URL either: coretrace-stack-analyzer, which copied this file in March 2026, credited this project until CoreTrace/coretrace-stack-analyzer#261. The other CoreTrace repositories get the same NOTICE.

Change

  • NOTICE reads "Copyright 2026 Hugo Payet and the CoreTrace contributors" and gives the repository's URL, so every copy that reproduces it, as Apache-2.0 requires of derivative works, points back here.
  • CHANGELOG.md lists the change under Unreleased.

Verification

  • No file in this repository reads NOTICE; CONTRIBUTING.md only names it. CoreTrace ships it with the analyzer and only checks that it is not empty.
  • The three commit messages pass scripts/ci/commit_checker.py.

Apache-2.0, section 4(d), requires derivative works to carry the
attribution notices in NOTICE. With the repository's URL in it, every
copy that follows the license points back to this project.
Another person authored code that is still in this repository, and
Apache-2.0 licenses their contributions without transferring their
copyright. NOTICE names the contributors as a group, next to Hugo
Payet; the history of the repository names them.
Every redistribution of the analyzer must keep NOTICE, so the change
is listed for users.
