Summary

The MIT License requires every copy of the library to keep the copyright line of LICENSE. That line named CTrace, not the people who wrote the library: Hugo Payet and, for the Windows backend, Cédric Roulof. The other CoreTrace repositories get the same wording in their NOTICE, starting with CoreTrace/coretrace-stack-analyzer#261.

Change

  • LICENSE reads "Copyright (c) 2026 Hugo Payet and the CoreTrace contributors". The rest of the license text is unchanged.
  • CHANGELOG.md gets an Unreleased section that lists the change.

Verification

  • scripts/check-license-compliance.sh looks for "MIT" in LICENSE, and CoreTrace's install test for "MIT License"; neither reads the copyright line.
  • The two commit messages pass scripts/ci/commit_checker.py.

Not in this PR

  • CoreTrace builds coretrace-log v1.0.0 and ships that release's LICENSE. Its archives carry the new line once CoreTrace moves to a coretrace-log release that has it.

The MIT License requires every copy of the library to keep this
copyright line. It named CTrace rather than the people who wrote the
library: Hugo Payet and, for the Windows backend (686ac99), Cédric
Roulof. It now reads like the NOTICE of the other CoreTrace
repositories.
Every copy of the library must keep the copyright line of LICENSE, so
the change is listed for users.
