Genome annotations and cross-platform agreement are computational hypotheses, not measured metabolite handoffs or established niche partitioning. The assembly-to-removal arrow overstates design as a demonstrated biological mediator. Better removal than the best monoculture is not mutualism. Separate-treatment figures (93.1% PFOS, 91.4% atrazine, 91.6% lignin) differ from the separately reported seven-day mixed-pollutant figures (87.1%, 84.7%, 88.9%). Full-length 16S DNA profiles do not establish viability, strain-resolved flux, or necessity of predicted hubs.

The main body does report a daily equal-ratio dilution/remixing comparison. This supports a bounded PARTIAL composition-management effect, not the existing claim that persistence of the full roster causally maintains a specific cross-feeding network. Retain at most that qualified existing dynamics-to-removal arrow; remove the design arrow and unsupported categories. Preserve source-reported observations without endorsing the article's internally conflicting mass balances: 37.1 micromolar PFOS x 17 x 19 gives about 12.0 mg/L total fluorine, not 64.08; Methods also mention PFOA/PFOS mixtures, so the denominator cannot be resolved by assuming PFOS alone. Atrazine concentration, nitrogen yield and colorimetric method descriptions also conflict.
