Bound infant phage persistence arrows to strain-resolved associations and proposed mechanisms #1511
The four nodes and three arrows blend measured persistence, maternal-origin and recoding associations, and a proposed colonization model. Community richness/alpha diversity is not the within-phage nucleotide diversity associated with persistence, so the richness-to-stability arrow is not justified by that result. The first node combines a persistence percentage with a distinct whole-phageome complexity result and assigns broad pairwise predation despite predicted hosts and temperate phages.
The primary paper supports positive findings, not their removal:155/1801 early phage strains persisted in40 infants with complete follow-up; maternal transmission and recoding were associated with persistence. Recoding-related lysis timing and repeated seeding remain hypotheses. The three recoded persisters have heterogeneous TAG changes, including decreases; do not universalize the abstract's increase. Sampling-based persistence is not continuously observed infection.
Complete primary main text/STAR Methods, Tables1-2, key-resources table and Figures1-4 captions read from NCBI XML. No original figure images, external supplements, raw data or code audited. Repair every existing node/arrow with canonical participant scope, retain source-proposed mechanisms as PARTIAL where appropriate, remove the unsupported diversity-metric link, and add anchored discussions and focused tests. No new node/arrow is authorized by this issue.
