fix(repo): keep the log's history readable when the data is a folder of a bigger repo (0.4.10) - #23
Conversation
…of a bigger repo (0.4.10) With SCT_DATA pointing at a folder inside a checkout, `git show rev:cycle/log.jsonl` looked for the log at the repository root and found nothing. Every check-in commit then listed every day of the log, and /deshacer `git rm`-ed the whole log instead of restoring the day before. Undo also looked only at HEAD, so a commit by the other folder's writer on top hid the last check-in. The log is now read relative to the data directory, and undo takes the last commit that touched it. At the repository root nothing changes.

The current command remains a valid root-checkout setup. It does not demonstrate the nested-directory behavior documented in
SCT_DATA, and it still pins image0.4.7instead of0.4.10. Update the example:Suggested Docker example update

The household's data is moving into one repository shared with another bot, with each bot's data in its own folder. Pointed at a folder like that, this bot broke its own log:
git show <rev>:cycle/log.jsonllooks for the path from the repository root, so it found no log at any revision. Every check-in commit then listed every day of the log instead of the days that changed./deshaceron a pushed check-in found no log in the parent commit and rangit rmon the whole log./deshaceronly checked HEAD. Once the other folder's writer had a commit on top, the last check-in counted as "nothing to undo".The fix:
_showreads<rev>:./cycle/log.jsonl, which git resolves relative to the data directory.git log -1 -- .) and restores from that commit's parent. At the root it still reads HEAD and restores from the same commit as before (<HEAD sha>~1), so nothing changes there.Tests: a new
subfolder_repofixture builds a bare remote and two clones. The data istracker/and a second writer commits todoctor/. Four tests cover commit and push with a concurrent commit in the other folder, undo of the last check-in, undo under the other folder's commit, and the deleted-log conflict. On the oldrepo.pythe first three fail (subjectlog: 2027-01-04, ... 2027-03-04instead oflog: 2027-03-04; undo returned every date of the log; undo returned None). The conflict test passes on both versions, as it should. Full suite: 428 passed; ruff check and format are clean.Deploy contract: mount the whole checkout,
.gitincluded (for example at/repo), and setSCT_DATAto the folder (/repo/supercycletracker).Summary by CodeRabbit
SCT_DATAcan point to a data repository checkout or a folder within one, and that the whole checkout should be mounted.
