Codex gateway borrowing currently intercepts HTTP and WebSocket forwarding, acquires source cookies, qualifies target routes and exposes configuration, status and diagnostic interfaces. Remove that capability completely so every new request uses its selected account's ordinary routing and forwarding policies.
Preserve the independent Pelican workbench by extracting its runner, repository, preview service, API types and translations. Keep client identity, request compression, model catalogs, task UUID hashes and background-task behavior. Historical Pelican tables, raw outputs and diagnostic records remain readable; migration 278 removes only the borrowing setting and changes the new-task execution-mode default to
account. Historical migrations and checksums remain unchanged. Retired borrowing API and preview paths return 404, and/admin/codexnow opens client identity.Validation: targeted synthetic HTTP/WS continuation, compression, Pelican lifecycle, cancellation, route-retirement and preview checks; frontend typecheck and affected Vitest tests; PostgreSQL 18.1 fresh-install migrations plus private-schema upgrade/repeat checks preserving history and unrelated settings. A queued-send cancellation race exposed by removing the legacy branch is fixed and its affected tests pass. Normal required PR checks remain in place. No real model calls were made.
