Coding agents and developers could get green CI while the verification toolchain contained five affected packages: install only printed advisories, and
checkexcluded development dependencies. Patch the affected toolchain and make bothcheckand CI run fullnpm audit. The lock changes eleven package records: Vitest and its seven coupled packages to 4.1.11, PostCSS 8.5.30, Nano ID 3.3.20 and source-map-js 1.2.2. The manifest declares the patched Vitest minimum. All 97 other package records—including Vite 8.1.3—remain unchanged. No app, runtime, visual, test assertion or runtime engine change.
Validation: unchanged-lock full audit fails with 5 findings; clean candidate install, complete installed-tree validation and full/production audits pass with 0. All 364 tests across 35 files pass on patched tooling. Private compiler output matches all 72 baseline runtime files after line-ending normalization (70 exact Git-byte matches). Tests include actual repair processes, isolated concurrency and sustained receipt recovery.
Vitest 5.0.4 is separate outstanding modernization work: its newer development Node/type requirements need explicit Node 20 consumer proof. This is the security repair on the existing supported test-runner line, not a claim of globally latest tooling or absence of every possible vulnerability.
