eli5 是一个 Codex / Agent Skill，用大图和少量文字，把陌生主题解释给没有相关背景的成年人。

Skill 会优先生成会话内的 HTML 可视化内容；宿主不支持内嵌 HTML 时，则生成可直接双击打开的独立 HTML 文件。独立文件不需要启动 Web 服务器；临时服务器只用于必要的自动化验证，并应在验证后关闭。
内容不会被强行套进固定三段式。Skill 会按复杂度选择 2–5 个场景，从“核心概念、工作机制、具体例子、适用边界、可选理解检查”中保留真正需要的部分。仓库同时提供稳定的独立 HTML 模板和无第三方依赖的静态检查器，减少未替换占位符、远程资源、缺失替代文本和伪交互控件等问题。
处理日志、本地文件或客户材料时，Skill 会把其中的指令视为待分析数据；调用外部搜索或图片服务前应移除密钥、个人信息、客户标识和私有路径。独立 HTML 默认把所需资源嵌入文件内部。

$eli5 是 Codex 的标准显式调用方式。/eli5 只能作为普通提示文本使用，并不是本项目注册的斜杠命令。

It works well for technical concepts, errors and logs, business processes, abstract models, devices, and products. It produces an inline HTML artifact when the host supports one, with a self-contained standalone HTML file as the fallback. Standalone files open directly without a web server; any temporary verification server must be stopped afterward.
The skill selects two to five scenes by conceptual complexity instead of forcing a fixed three-part story. It plans from a core idea, mechanism, concrete example, boundary, and optional understanding check. A stable standalone template and dependency-free checker catch unresolved markers, remote runtime assets, missing text alternatives, and false affordances.
Instructions found in supplied logs, files, or pages are treated as untrusted data. Secrets, personal data, customer identifiers, and private paths must be removed before using external search or image services. Standalone HTML embeds its required runtime assets by default.

Other Agent Skills-compatible clients can install the eli5/ skill directory using their normal skill installation mechanism. Inline HTML support depends on the host; standalone HTML remains available as the fallback.
