What

Backend half of the Google Cloud integration: connect a project, a folder or a whole organization, and get a gcloud script that sets it up.

  • No Google OAuth. An org admin registers a connector; a cloud administrator runs the generated script in Cloud Shell.
  • Scope: project, folder or organization. A folder or organization connector covers every project underneath, including projects created later. Maple's own resources (Pub/Sub topic, subscription, service account) live in a host project (project_id); for a project scope that is the project itself.
  • Two switches, chosen at create time and changeable with PATCH:
    • logs_enabled (default on): Log Router sink at the scope -> Pub/Sub topic -> push subscription (unwrapped, one LogEntry per request) to POST {ingest}/v1/logpush/gcp/{connector_id}?secret=…. The receiver route is a separate PR.
    • metrics_enabled (default off, covers metrics and the resource inventory): a read-only service account in the host project that Maple's own Google account may impersonate. Needs MAPLE_GCP_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_EMAIL; without it the status reports metrics_available: false and turning the switch on is a 409. The poller is a separate PR.
  • The setup script converges: it creates or updates what is on and removes what an earlier run created for what is off, so opting out is "PATCH, then run the script again".
  • The script reports what it applied. Each section ends by telling Maple, through the new topic when log forwarding is on and with curl to the push endpoint otherwise. The connector shows it as applied_logs_enabled, applied_metrics_enabled and setup_reported_at, seconds after the run and before the first log or metric. The receiver side is feat(ingest): receive Cloud Logging entries from GCP Pub/Sub push #1320.
  • Disconnect = delete the connector. Maple has no write access to Google Cloud, so the API returns a cleanup script.

What the customer pastes

setup_script and cleanup_script are text for an interactive shell, not a file:

 { [ -z "${BASH_VERSION-}" ] || case "$(history 1)" in *MAPLE_SETUP_SCRIPT*) history -d -1 ;; esac 2>/dev/null
bash /dev/fd/3 3<<'MAPLE_SETUP_SCRIPT'
#!/usr/bin/env bash
...
MAPLE_SETUP_SCRIPT
}
  • The login shell reads to the closing brace before it runs anything, and the script runs in a bash process of its own. A failing step, set -euo pipefail and exit end that process, not the Cloud Shell session.
  • The script arrives on file descriptor 3, so the terminal stays its stdin and nothing reads pasted text as an answer. gcloud prompts are off.
  • The first line removes the paste from the history of bash 5 (Cloud Shell). zsh and bash 4 keep the entry.
  • The text is plain ASCII; the marks it prints (✓, ✗) are spelled as bytes. Under a C locale an interactive bash 3.2 reordered the bytes of pasted multibyte characters.
  • The same text runs with bash file and bash < file.

What it prints, for a first run on a project:

Maple setup for project acme-prod
  Log forwarding on
  Metrics and resources on

Checking access
  ✓ Signed in as jane@acme.com
✓ Project acme-prod found (Acme Production)
  ✓ Billing is enabled
✓ jane@acme.com has the permissions this script needs
  ✓ Log filter accepted

Log forwarding
✓ APIs enabled (Pub/Sub, Cloud Logging, Cloud Resource Manager)
  ✓ Topic created
  ✓ Push subscription created
  ✓ Log sink created
✓ Sink allowed to write to the project
✓ Sink allowed to publish to the topic
✓ Check message sent to Maple through the topic

Metrics and resources
✓ APIs enabled (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Asset, IAM, IAM Credentials, Cloud Resource Manager)
  ✓ Read-only service account created
✓ Read-only roles granted (Monitoring Viewer, Cloud Asset Viewer, Service Usage Consumer)
✓ Maple allowed to read as that account
  ✓ Maple notified

Done. Google Cloud is set up for Maple.
Maple confirms it within a minute: https://app.maple.dev/integrations?integration=gcp
Logs: a new sink can take about 10 minutes to start forwarding. What is logged before
it does is not forwarded later.
Metrics: the first read lands within about 10 minutes.
  • Google's own output shows only for a step that fails, under what failed and above a What to do: line (the role to ask for, the billing link, the organization policy to lift, the filter to correct). Its machine-readable detail block is left out, and a quoted push endpoint is printed as secret=HIDDEN. The script then stops; every step can run again.
  • Nothing is created or removed before the access checks pass: signed in, scope and host project open, billing on (with metrics), and a testIamPermissions call for the permissions the enabled sections use.
  • It asks once which APIs are on and switches on only the ones that are off, so someone who may not switch APIs on can run it once they are. If one is off, the access check also asks for the right to switch it on and stops there, naming the APIs and Service Usage Admin.
  • When the script is going to set the log filter (a new sink, or LOG_FILTER_MODE='set'), it reads one entry with it first, so a filter Google refuses stops the run before the topic and subscription exist.
  • An account that holds none of the permissions is told to check the ID first, instead of a list of twelve missing permissions.
  • A wrong ID has one remedy, named wherever the script suspects one: If it is wrong, remove the connection in Maple and connect the right ID: a connection's ID can't be changed.
  • A project-scope script says the project; host project is kept for a folder or organization, in what the script prints and in its comments.
  • Removal: after a sink is deleted Google keeps routing for a while. With the topic gone by then it logs a topic_not_found error in the customer's project and may notify its contacts, so the script waits a minute (… waiting a minute for Google to stop routing to the topic) before it deletes the subscription and topic. No wait when there was no sink.
  • A second run reads Topic already exists, Push subscription up to date, Log sink up to date (filter kept) and ends with Done. Everything is in place. The script makes every grant again on each run and cannot tell cheaply whether one was missing, so the line does not claim that nothing was. A run that only replaced the filter ends with Done. The log sink has the filter of this script. Everything else is in place.

API (/v2/integrations/gcp, scope family integrations)

Endpoint Access Response
GET / any member, integrations:read { object: "gcp_integration", metrics_available, connectors: [connector] }
POST /connectors { scope_type, scope_id, project_id?, logs_enabled?, metrics_enabled? } org-admin, integrations:write connector
PATCH /connectors/{id} { logs_enabled?, metrics_enabled? } org-admin, integrations:write connector
POST /connectors/{id}/setup_scripts { log_filter?: "keep" | "default" | "include_gke_container_logs" } org-admin, integrations:write { object: "gcp_connector.setup_scripts", setup_script, cleanup_script }
DELETE /connectors/{id} org-admin, integrations:write { id, object: "gcp_connector", deleted: true, cleanup_script }

Connector: { id: "gcpc_…", object: "gcp_connector", scope_type, scope_id, project_id, logs_enabled, metrics_enabled, created_at, last_log_received_at, last_log_error, applied_logs_enabled, applied_metrics_enabled, setup_reported_at }. The three last ones are null until a script run reports; PATCH never changes them.

Rules:

  • scope_type: "project": scope_id is a project ID; project_id is omitted or equal to it.
  • scope_type: "folder" | "organization": scope_id is the numeric ID; project_id (host project) is required.
  • At least one switch stays on (400 integration_request_invalid).
  • metrics_enabled: true without a Google identity on the deployment: 409 gcp_metrics_unavailable.
  • A scope can be connected once per Maple organization: 409 gcp_scope_already_connected.

What the script asks for

Everything is stated in comments in the script itself.

Capability Where What Why
Logs host project APIs pubsub, logging, cloudresourcemanager topic + subscription, sink routing, gcloud's role grants
Logs scope Log Router sink (--include-children for folder / organization) routes matching entries
Logs host project roles/logging.logWriter for the sink's writer identity required for every sink destination
Logs topic roles/pubsub.publisher for the sink's writer identity publish to this one topic
Metrics host project APIs monitoring, cloudasset, iam, iamcredentials, cloudresourcemanager the two reads, the service account, short-lived tokens, gcloud's role grants
Metrics scope roles/monitoring.viewer monitoring.timeSeries.list
Metrics scope roles/cloudasset.viewer cloudasset.assets.searchAllResources
Metrics host project roles/serviceusage.serviceUsageConsumer Cloud Asset Inventory requires serviceusage.services.use
Metrics the service account roles/iam.serviceAccountTokenCreator for Maple's account impersonation, no key is created

Both viewer roles are the narrowest predefined roles for those calls; the script says that Cloud Asset Viewer can also read resource metadata and IAM policies.

The person running the script needs Owner on the host project and, for a folder or organization, Logs Configuration Writer plus Folder IAM Admin or Organization Administrator there. The script checks the permissions behind those roles before its first change and names the ones that are missing.

Changes

  • gcp_connectors table, declared in packages/db/src/tables/gcp-connectors.ts, with one generated create-table migration, 20261010004411_gcp_connectors (see Database). Purged on org deletion.
  • GcpConnectorService: status, create, update, scripts, delete. The push secret is AES-GCM encrypted (AAD-bound to its row) and stored with the HMAC lookup hash the ingest gateway computes (hashIngestKey, shared with ingest keys).
  • gcp/setup-scripts.ts: renderers for the setup and cleanup scripts. They fail if a value would end the script's here-document.
  • gcpConnectorResourceNames(connectorId) in @maple/domain/gcp: the names of the service account, topic, subscription and sink, derived from the connector id only. The service account email is <serviceAccountId>@<project_id>.iam.gserviceaccount.com.
  • MAPLE_GCP_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_EMAIL (optional) in Env, the api env resources and .env.example.

Database

main moved Postgres to effect-orm (#1353), so this branch merged main and follows it: the table is a PG.table, the queries in GcpConnectorService run through db.run(...) and db.transaction(...), and the migration is generated by db:generate on top of 20261009202241_drop_schema_leftovers. It replaces the drizzle-kit migration 20261008235400_gcp_connectors this PR carried before. Neither was applied to prd.

The table is the one the earlier migration created, compared column by column:

# column before (20261008235400) now (20261010004411)
1 id text PRIMARY KEY text NOT NULL, CONSTRAINT "gcp_connectors_pkey" PRIMARY KEY ("id")
2 org_id text NOT NULL same
3 scope_type text NOT NULL same
4 scope_id text NOT NULL same
5 project_id text NOT NULL same
6 logs_enabled boolean DEFAULT true NOT NULL same
7 metrics_enabled boolean DEFAULT false NOT NULL same
8 secret_ciphertext text NOT NULL same
9 secret_iv text NOT NULL same
10 secret_tag text NOT NULL same
11 secret_hash text NOT NULL same
12 last_received_at timestamp with time zone same
13 last_error text same
14 applied_logs_enabled boolean same
15 applied_metrics_enabled boolean same
16 setup_reported_at timestamp with time zone same
17 created_by text NOT NULL same
18 created_at timestamp with time zone NOT NULL same
19 updated_at timestamp with time zone NOT NULL same
  • Unique indexes: gcp_connectors_org_scope_idx (org_id, scope_type, scope_id) and gcp_connectors_secret_hash_unique (secret_hash), same names, columns and order.
  • The primary key constraint has the name Postgres gave the inline key, gcp_connectors_pkey.
  • What differs is the statement text only: CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS, CREATE UNIQUE INDEX IF NOT EXISTS, and USING btree spelled out. No table, column, type, nullability, default or constraint differs, so the receiver's SQL in feat(ingest): receive Cloud Logging entries from GCP Pub/Sub push #1320 reads and writes the same columns.

The statements the service sends are the ones it sent before: status filters by org_id and orders by created_at, id; create is INSERT ... ON CONFLICT (org_id, scope_type, scope_id) DO NOTHING RETURNING; update reads the row with SELECT ... FOR UPDATE inside its transaction and writes it by id; delete is DELETE ... WHERE org_id AND id RETURNING. Timestamps are epoch milliseconds from the table (PG.timestamptzMillis), so the Date conversions are gone. parity.test.ts checks the table definition against the migrations.

Decisions

  • setup_scripts is a POST. The option rides in a JSON body, and a POST needs integrations:write, so a read-scoped key cannot fetch the push secret.
  • DELETE returns the cleanup script: after the delete the connector is gone. That copy carries no secret and reports nothing. The cleanup script from setup_scripts carries the secret: it tells Maple that it ran, so a client can show the cleanup as done before it deletes the connector.
  • Ids are validated at the HTTP boundary (project ID pattern, numeric folder / organization ID) and stay branded down to the renderer. Every value that reaches a script is also single-quoted by one helper.
  • Resource names: maple- + the first 24 hex characters of the connector UUID (90 random bits), which keeps the service account id at Google's 30-character limit.
  • Default log filter: NOT log_id("cloudaudit.googleapis.com/data_access") AND NOT httpRequest.userAgent:"GoogleHC" AND NOT protoPayload.methodName="io.k8s.coordination.v1.leases.update" AND NOT logName:"serialconsole.googleapis.com" AND NOT resource.type="k8s_container". Health-check probe requests are excluded; the health-check transition log is kept, since it only records state changes. The last two come from a live run: one idle GKE node wrote about 570 lease-renewal audit entries a minute, and a VM wrote about 7,000 serial console lines at boot. GKE container logs are left out because a workload that sends its logs to Maple through OpenTelemetry would have every container line stored twice, and Google's copy carries no trace link. log_filter: "include_gke_container_logs" renders the filter without that last clause. The comment above LOG_FILTER in the script says what is left out, why, and how to include it, with a link to the docs page integrations/gcp-opentelemetry (added in feat(gcp): Google Cloud dashboard template and docs page #1335).
  • A re-run keeps the sink's filter. With log_filter: "keep" (the default) the script creates a new sink with the default filter and updates an existing one without --log-filter, which leaves its filter as it is. default and include_gke_container_logs render LOG_FILTER_MODE='set' and replace it. A filter edited by hand survives every later copy of the script.
  • Subscription: 1 day message retention (bounds replay after an outage), 30s ack deadline, never expires, 10s to 600s retry backoff.
  • Teardown never guesses. A removal step looks the resource up first. NOT_FOUND means there is nothing to remove (for the host project's own resources, so does a never-enabled API); any other failure stops the script there, with Google's answer and what to do. The sink goes before the subscription and the topic, and the role bindings before the service account, so stopping never leaves a sink routing into a deleted topic or a binding that can no longer be named.
  • A lost Google identity removes nothing. If a connector has metrics on and the deployment no longer has MAPLE_GCP_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_EMAIL, the setup script leaves the metrics setup as it is.
  • The sink's Logs Writer grant is left in place. The writer identity is the logging service agent of the project, folder or organization, which every other sink there shares.
  • Telling Maple never fails the run. If the publish or the curl fails, the script prints one line, leaves out Maple confirms it within a minute and finishes. The connection then reads as pending until a later run reaches Maple.
  • The scope's name is optional for logs alone. gcloud organizations describe needs resourcemanager.organizations.get, which Logs Configuration Writer does not include. With metrics on, the role the run needs includes it, and a scope that does not open stops the script. With logs only, the permission check decides.
  • Cloud Resource Manager API. gcloud reads projects and grants roles through that API of the project its calls are counted against. For a person in Cloud Shell that is Google's own project; for a service account it is the account's project. A service-account caller in the host project was asked Would you like to enable and retry (y/N)? with the sink half set up. Prompts are off for the whole script, the script tries to switch the API on before its first read, and both sections list it.
  • Errors: GcpScopeAlreadyConnectedError and GcpMetricsUnavailableError are new. A missing connector reuses IntegrationsNotFoundError, the both-switches-off rule reuses IntegrationsValidationError, crypto failures and the here-document guard reuse IntegrationsPersistenceError.

Testing

  • setup-scripts.test.ts runs the rendered text in bash against recording gcloud and curl stand-ins, for each of the three scopes: both capabilities from nothing (the whole transcript), logs only (metrics removed), metrics only (logs removed, reported with curl), cleanup. Plus: the text fed to an interactive bash that must survive a failing run with its options intact, the re-run transcript, the three log filter modes, a refused step, a wrong ID, no billing, no sign-in, no gcloud, a missing permission, Maple unreachable, the wait for a new service account, no Google identity, a failed role removal, a denied lookup, quoting of hostile values, one argument per value.
  • Pasted by hand through a pty into bash 3.2 -i and zsh 5.9 -i against the same stand-ins: the shell stays alive, $? is the script's status, errexit and nounset stay off.
  • GcpConnectorService.test.ts (PGlite): secret hash equals hashIngestKey with a trimmed key, scope uniqueness, the capability rules on create and update, scripts following the stored flags, AAD binding, org scoping.
  • integrations-gcp.http.test.ts: wire shape per scope, PATCH, the 409s, admin and scope gates, 400 for malformed scopes and ids, 404.

Run live against a real project (bash 5.2 in Google's Cloud SDK container, zsh, bash 3.2; under-privileged callers; every convergence path): the first run took 39 s and printed the transcript above line for line, the shell stayed alive with its options off, bash 5 kept nothing in its history, and reports arrived through the topic within 3 s. The findings of that run are in the script. Folder and organization scopes have not run against Google.

Smoke checklist for what is left:

  1. Project scope: run the setup script on a fresh project, then again unchanged (the update paths must be accepted as no-ops). A log entry reaches the ingest gateway.
  2. Folder and organization scope: the sink is created with --include-children, its writer identity can publish, and logs of a child project arrive.
  3. Metrics on: the scope-level role bindings land (a fresh service account can take about a minute, which the script retries), and an impersonated call to timeSeries.list and searchAllResources succeeds on organizations/<id> / folders/<id> with the host project as quota project. This also settles whether serviceusage.serviceUsageConsumer and the host-project iamcredentials API are strictly needed.
  4. An organization with domain-restricted sharing: the token-creator grant is rejected, and the script's What to do: line names the policy. The match is on allowedPolicyMember and permitted customer in gcloud's answer.
  5. bash 5 in Cloud Shell: after a run, history | grep -c MAPLE_SETUP_SCRIPT prints 0. CI runs this on the runner's bash; Cloud Shell's readline and bracketed paste are not covered.
  6. The answer testIamPermissions gives for an ID that does not exist, and that gcloud services list --enabled --format='value(config.name)' names the APIs the way the script compares them (if not, the script switches all of them on, as before). The wait for a new service account matches what a live run answered: INVALID_ARGUMENT: Service account ... does not exist.
  7. PATCH a switch off, run it again: the corresponding resources are removed. Run the cleanup script: nothing named maple-… is left.
  8. Run the cleanup as someone without sink permission on the organization: it must stop with an error, not report success.

Rollout notes

  • The log receiver and the metrics poller ship separately. A connector set up before the receiver deploys pushes into a 404; Pub/Sub retries for one day.
  • MAPLE_INGEST_PUBLIC_URL must be a public HTTPS URL for Pub/Sub to accept the push endpoint (it is in every deployed stage).
  • Deploy the receiver (feat(ingest): receive Cloud Logging entries from GCP Pub/Sub push #1320) before this API. Every script now sends a setup report. A receiver that does not know reports stores the one sent through the topic as a log line named maple-setup, and the connection never leaves Setup pending.
  • MAPLE_APP_BASE_URL is the link the script prints back to Maple.

Review notes

  • A dedicated GcpConnectorNotFoundError was suggested in review. Kept IntegrationsNotFoundError: its contract already covers "the connector id in the path does not resolve", and a second 404 tag would not change what a caller does.
  • A custom IAM role holding only the two permissions was suggested instead of the two viewer roles. Kept predefined roles for this version: a custom role for a folder scope has to be created at the organization, which raises what the person running the script needs. The script states what the viewer roles can read.
  • The retry helper used to repeat a permanent failure for about a minute before giving up. Changed: the script now reads gcloud's answer for every failed step anyway, so it waits only while Google answers that the new service account does not exist.
  • The name helper returns four identical fields instead of one string so the script and the poller name each resource explicitly.
  • A database CHECK (logs_enabled OR metrics_enabled) was suggested for the two-concurrent-updates case. Fixed in the service instead: the update reads and writes the row under SELECT … FOR UPDATE, which closes the race without changing the table other branches already build on.
  • Teardown treating a disabled API as "no sink" was raised for folder and organization sinks. Fixed: for a sink only NOT_FOUND counts as absent; a disabled API still counts as absent for the host project's own resources, which cannot exist without it.
  • Three more teardown findings were fixed as raised: Pub/Sub resources are kept when the sink lookup failed, the service account is kept when a role binding could not be removed, and metrics removal is no longer rendered for a metrics-enabled connector on a deployment without a Google identity.
  • Not doing: removing the deleted:serviceAccount:... role bindings that stay behind when the read-only service account was deleted by hand instead of by the script. They grant nothing, and Google removes them.
  • Keeping the cleanup script retrievable after a delete whose response was lost was suggested (a stored cleanup record). Not done: the same script is returned by setup_scripts before the delete, and it is a pure function of the connector id, scope and host project, so a caller that needs a durable copy fetches it first.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added Google Cloud integrations for projects, folders, and organizations, with controls for log forwarding and metrics collection.
    • Integration setup and cleanup scripts help apply or remove the required Google Cloud settings. You can check connector status and remove existing connectors.
    • Metrics collection is available when the required Google service account is configured; logs can be enabled without additional configuration.
  • Documentation
    • Added Google Cloud connector setup guidance to the API documentation.

Adds gcp_connectors, GcpConnectorService and /v2/integrations/gcp: an org registers one connector per Google Cloud project and its owner runs the generated gcloud script, which routes the project's logs through Pub/Sub to the ingest gateway and, when the deployment has a Google identity, creates a read-only metrics account Maple may impersonate.
… logs, carry id brands

Pre-PR review: the sink's writer identity also needs roles/logging.logWriter per the current routing docs; compute.googleapis.com/healthchecks only logs health state transitions, so it stays in the default filter's output while probe requests are still excluded; the id and project id columns carry their brands; service spans are annotated; the AAD binding is tested.

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 851d7

This change adds Google Cloud connectors with generated setup and cleanup scripts. Concurrent PATCH requests, a missing Maple service-account identity, and an uncertain sink lookup are now handled safely. No concrete merge-blocking risk remains, though the first run against a real Google Cloud environment should follow the author's smoke checklist.

Nothing to review

The only change since the previous review is a regenerated iOS OpenAPI spec adding the "Google Cloud Integration" tag description; the connector API itself was reviewed at b2f50bd. Generated artifact, nothing to review.

…r or organization

A connector now names a scope and a host project, and opts into log forwarding and into metrics plus resource collection separately (PATCH /connectors/{id}). The setup script places the sink and the read-only role bindings at the scope and converges: it removes what a disabled capability left behind. The create-table migration is regenerated; nothing was deployed on the old one.
…t check

Script review: removal no longer treats a failed lookup as an absent resource, a failed role removal ends the script with an error, the role comments say what Cloud Asset Viewer can read, and the token-creator grant names the organization policy that can reject it.

🌐 Web query:

gcloud logging sinks describe --organization quota project SERVICE_DISABLED "has not been used in project"

💡 Result:

That error usually means the **quota/billing project** used by `gcloud` has not enabled the API named in the error. It can be different from the organization whose sink you’re describing. `--organization` selects the sink’s resource; `--billing-project` selects the project used for API enablement checks and quota. ([docs.cloud.google.com](https://docs.cloud.google.com/sdk/gcloud/reference/logging/sinks/describe?utm_source=openai))

Try:

```bash
gcloud logging sinks describe SINK_NAME \
  --organization=ORG_ID \
  --billing-project=QUOTA_PROJECT_ID
```

If the error persists, enable the **specific API named in the error** in `QUOTA_PROJECT_ID`, or choose a quota project where it’s already enabled. Google also requires `serviceusage.services.use` on the quota project. ([docs.cloud.google.com](https://docs.cloud.google.com/docs/authentication/troubleshoot-adc?utm_source=openai))

To check whether a quota project is configured:

```bash
gcloud config get-value billing/quota_project
```

The exact API to enable isn’t included in your message, so I can’t identify it from the snippet alone. The command itself supports `--organization`; the quota-project setting controls the separate quota/API-check context. ([docs.cloud.google.com](https://docs.cloud.google.com/sdk/gcloud/reference/logging/sinks/describe?utm_source=openai))

Fail closed when a folder or organization sink lookup reports a disabled API for another project.

gcloud logging sinks describe --folder and --organization can use a quota project that differs from the sink scope. If the error reports that the API is disabled in that quota project, treating the sink as absent can skip sink deletion before the topic is deleted. Accept the disabled-API response only when it names $PROJECT_ID; otherwise report the error and set INCOMPLETE=1.

Enforce "at least one capability on" in the database.

GcpConnectorService.update reads the row, runs checkCapabilities, and then writes the merged flags. No lock or conditional write protects these steps. Two concurrent PATCH requests can both pass the check:

  • Request A sends { logs_enabled: false } and reads metrics_enabled = true.
  • Request B sends { metrics_enabled: false } and reads logs_enabled = true.

The stored row then ends with both flags false. The API contract forbids that state, and the setup script for that row removes everything. A table CHECK constraint closes this gap and needs no transaction changes.

Regenerate the migration and snapshot after this change. Optionally, map the constraint violation in update to IntegrationsValidationError.

Only the already-raised non-atomic update stands out; scoping, secret handling and shell quoting are pinned by tests that execute the rendered scripts.
quality 100/100 · no findings · tests covered · risk medium · 2/2 new units observable

Adds the Google Cloud connector API (project/folder/organization scopes), its DB schema, and the convergent gcloud setup/cleanup scripts. Org scoping, secret encryption with row-bound AAD, and shell quoting all hold up; safe to merge.

  • GcpConnectorService stores one connector per org+scope with an AES-GCM push secret hashed like the ingest gateway
  • renderGcpSetupScript converges: creates what is on, removes what is off
  • Five /v2/integrations/gcp endpoints; mutations are org-admin and audited, status is member-readable
  • gcp_connectors joins ORG_SCOPED_TABLES so org deletion drops push secrets

Adds the Google Cloud connector API: per-org connectors for a project, folder or organization, an encrypted log-push secret, and generated gcloud setup/cleanup scripts. Contained and well tested; safe to merge.

Do not generate metrics removal for an enabled connector.

If MAPLE_GCP_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_EMAIL is removed after a metrics-enabled connector is created, scripts passes undefined to renderGcpSetupScript. The renderer then emits metricsRemoval even though row.metricsEnabled remains true. An operator who reruns the setup script removes metrics access. Reject script generation for this state, or preserve the enabled metrics configuration in the script.

Bot review: the topic stays when the sink lookup failed, the service account stays until every role binding is confirmed gone, and a connector with metrics on is left untouched when the deployment has lost its Google identity instead of having its metrics setup removed.

The new gates and unbind branch are each pinned by a test that fails without them, and no path reaches the removal helpers undefined.
quality 100/100 · no findings · tests covered · risk medium

The last commits make the generated Google Cloud scripts conservative about teardown: an unreadable sink now keeps the Pub/Sub topic, a failed role unbind keeps the service account, and a metrics-enabled connector on an identity-less deployment has its metrics setup left untouched. Safe to merge.

  • unbind tolerates an already-absent IAM binding, reports anything else as INCOMPLETE
  • logsRemoval keeps the topic and subscription when the sink could not be inspected
  • metricsRemoval keeps the service account until every role binding is gone
  • renderGcpSetupScript emits METRICS_UNAVAILABLE instead of removing metrics when the deployment has no Google identity

…t when removing it

For 30 days after a service account is deleted, describing it answers
PERMISSION_DENIED even to an Owner, so a second run of the cleanup script, or of
a setup script with metrics off, ended with "Not everything could be removed".
The list does not name a deleted account. Setting up after such a delete creates
the account again, which the tests now pin.
…warding is switched back on

No sink exists until the setup script is re-run, so the connection reads
"Waiting for the first log" again instead of the push from before the opt-out.
…d prompts

For an API that is off, gcloud asks whether to enable it and waits for the
answer. The lookups capture that question, so it never showed and the script
appeared to hang. Without prompts gcloud reports the API as disabled, which the
lookups already handle.

The head reworks the GCP connector service and its generated gcloud scripts: log push state is reset when forwarding is re-enabled, the cleanup lookups fall back to listing a deleted service account, and gcloud prompts are disabled. Safe to merge.

…reports what it applied, and explains every failure

The copied text runs the script in a bash process of its own, so a failing step cannot close the Cloud Shell session. The script checks access and permissions before the first change, prints one line per step with Google's answer and a remedy only on failure, keeps an existing sink's log filter unless asked to replace it, and tells Maple what it set up or removed. The connector gains applied_logs_enabled, applied_metrics_enabled and setup_reported_at for that report; setup_scripts takes log_filter in place of exclude_gke_container_logs.
… slow new account and a host-project binding

A sink's writer identity is read without gcloud's stderr, Google's answer is printed without the push secret, only gcloud's own wording counts as a binding that is already gone, and a refused removal names the role of the resource it was refused on.

… and a quieter default log filter

The script switches on only the APIs that are off, so someone who may not switch APIs on can run it once they are, and it makes sure the Cloud Resource Manager API is on for a service-account caller. The default filter also leaves out Kubernetes lease renewals and VM serial console output. The summary says that entries logged before a new sink is live are not forwarded later.

Contained delta: the new off/apis helpers and the Cloud Resource Manager step are pinned line by line by the updated mocked-gcloud tests I read.
quality 100/100 · no findings · tests covered · risk medium · 1 file not read

The follow-up makes the generated Google Cloud setup script switch on only the APIs the host project lacks, enables Cloud Resource Manager before the access checks that need it, and widens the default log filter. Generated shell and mocked tests agree; safe to merge. (The mock test file was read as a 74-line delta plus its current source, not end to end.)

  • off/apis enable only the GCP APIs the host project lacks
  • access enables Cloud Resource Manager before the scope and project checks
  • Default log filter now drops Kubernetes lease renewals and serial-console output
  • serviceusage.services.enable dropped from the permission pre-check

The access check now also covers the right to switch on an API that is off, tries the log filter out when the script is going to set it, and reads an account without any of the permissions as a wrong ID first. Removing a sink waits a minute before the topic goes, so Google does not log a routing error in the customer's project. Google's detail block is no longer printed under a failed step, three more of its refusals get their own remedy, a replaced filter is named in the closing line, and the wait for a new service account polls every 3 seconds.

The Google Cloud setup/cleanup script generator now probes which APIs are off, tries the log filter out before creating anything, and reports what a run applied more precisely. Contained to script text; safe to merge. Both changed files were read in full, the test file included.

Workloads that send their logs through OpenTelemetry would have every container line stored twice, and Google's copy carries no trace link. The default filter now excludes resource.type="k8s_container"; log_filter gains include_gke_container_logs and loses exclude_gke_container_logs. The script's comment above LOG_FILTER says what is left out, why, and how to include it.

main moved Postgres to effect-orm and renamed packages/db/src/schema to
packages/db/src/tables. gcp_connectors is declared as a PG.table and its
migration is generated again after main's baseline
(20261010004411_gcp_connectors, same table as the drizzle-kit migration it
replaces). OrganizationService purges the table through the new registry.
Same statements as before: the insert still resolves a taken scope with
ON CONFLICT DO NOTHING on (org_id, scope_type, scope_id), and the update
still reads the row FOR UPDATE inside its transaction. Timestamps are
epoch milliseconds from the table, so the Date conversions are gone.

Adds the backend half of the Google Cloud integration: a gcp_connectors table, GcpConnectorService with logs/metrics switches, five admin-gated v2 endpoints, and convergent gcloud setup/cleanup scripts that carry a per-connector push secret. Safe to merge. The generated apps/ios OpenAPI client document was not read.

Security review of the pasted gcloud scripts.

Secret and token exposure:
- gcloud file logging off: it wrote every argument (the push secret) and
  the access token to ~/.config/gcloud/logs
- zsh 5.3+ keeps the paste out of its history file (HISTORY_IGNORE), once
- redaction also catches the secret JSON-escaped or URL-encoded
- the paste refuses any value with a CR, TAB or other control character,
which a terminal could read as the end of the here-document

Re-runs and conflicts:
- gcloud's calls are counted against the host project, not whichever
project Cloud Shell has open (CLOUDSDK_CORE_PROJECT)
- gcloud before 470 stops up front: its sink update lacks
  --include-children, so folder/org re-runs failed
- a paused sink forwards again (--no-disabled)
- a push subscription cut off from a deleted topic, or detached, is made
anew instead of updated in place forever
- IAM changes that race another policy change are tried again; removals
use --all so a conditional binding of Maple's reader is not left
- a resource gone between look and delete counts as removed
- Ctrl-C ends between steps with a re-run hint

Checks and messages:
- the permission pre-check reads Google's 403 as a wrong folder or
organization ID instead of skipping the check
- the *.get permissions are checked, so an unreadable resource is named
before the create that would collide with it
- billing or permission checks that could not run say so
- cleanup does not call a resource gone when its API is off
- the impersonated service account is named as the one needing roles
- domain-restricted sharing: allow Maple's one service account for this
project, don't turn the policy off

quality 98/100 · 1 note · tests covered · risk medium

Hardens the GCP setup and cleanup script text: gcloud calls pinned to the host project, gcloud file logging off, IAM races retried, gone resources counted as removed, and permission checks that stop on a wrong scope ID. Safe to merge apart from one assertion that cannot fail.

  • Both scripts export CLOUDSDK_CORE_PROJECT and CLOUDSDK_CORE_DISABLE_FILE_LOGGING
