[None][feat] Run GLM-5.3-Flash sparse attention on SM120 through FlashInfer - #20639
GLM-5.3-Flash fails during warmup on SM120/SM121: the glm_kpool sparse-MLA core only had FlashMLA (SM90/SM100) and the SM100 native decode kernel.
This routes the core to FlashInfer's GLM53_NOPE sparse MLA on SM120/SM121: per bounded query chunk, the selected FP8 latent rows are packed into FlashInfer's 528-byte rows (512 FP8 values + four FP32 group scales, all set to the cache's scale) and passed to the SM120 kernel. SM90/SM100 paths are unchanged.
nvidia/GLM-5.3-Flash-NVFP4 on 4x RTX PRO 6000 (TP4/EP4): GSM8K 92.87 (B200 FP8 reference 92.57).
Dev Engineer Review
The change adds an SM120/SM121 FlashInfer GLM53_NOPE path for GLM-5.3-Flash sparse MLA. It packs selected FP8 cache rows into FlashInfer’s page format and processes queries in chunks of 64. The existing SM90/SM100 paths are reported unchanged.
The path adds constraints on cache format, top-k alignment, and supported query-head counts. Verify these constraints match the runtime inputs for GLM-5.3-Flash. The supplied information reports targeted unit tests and GSM8K evaluation, but does not provide test-run results.
QA Engineer Review
The change adds unit coverage for FP8 row packing and the SM120/SM121 sparse core, including invalid indices and CUDA graph replay. It also adds a GLM-5.3-Flash NVFP4 GSM8K integration test and lists it in the RTX PRO 6000 four-GPU post-merge test list. The supplied evidence does not confirm that these tests ran.
Coverage verdict: needs follow-up. The tests target the new packing and attention paths. Confirm CI and integration test results.

8 points — Enables additional hardware for an existing model architecture. Review requires deep reasoning across the custom packing kernel and FlashInfer contract: byte layout, strides, scale semantics, sentinel handling, head padding, chunked workspaces and graph replay.
Importance
Important — The new execution path depends on an exact 528-byte FP8 row ABI, replicated dequantization scales and remapped sparse indices. These changes directly affect attention correctness, numerical accuracy and staging costs.

Walkthrough
The GLM k-pool backend adds a FlashInfer sparse MLA path for SM120 and SM121. It packs selected FP8 cache rows and validates the path with unit tests. Integration coverage now includes GLM-5.3-Flash NVFP4 accuracy testing.
The new Triton kernel and pack_glm53_kv_rows pack selected width-512 E4M3 FP8 rows into 528-byte rows, repeat the scale across four slots, and map invalid indices to -1. Unit tests check the packed payload, scales, and indices.
SM120/SM121 dispatch and validation tensorrt_llm/_torch/attention/backends/sparse/glm_kpool/backend.py, tests/unittest/_torch/attention/sparse/glm_kpool/test_kernels.py
SM120 and SM121 now use the FlashInfer GLM53_NOPE path. The backend aligns top-k rows, pads query heads, processes queries in chunks of 64, and trims padded heads. Tests compare the result with dequantized-cache attention and check invalid indices and CUDA graph replay.
The integration test evaluates the NVFP4 checkpoint with FP8 KV cache on GSM8K. The accuracy reference records 92.87 for RTX PRO 6000 TP4/EP4, and the test list includes that configuration.

The SM120/SM121 dispatch now raises NotImplementedError for non-FP8 latent caches. No test covers this. Before this change, SM120/SM121 used FlashMLA, which accepted BF16 caches. A regression that silently routes BF16 rows into pack_glm53_kv_rows would pass the current tests. The check runs before any kernel launch, so a CPU-safe test can verify it. Build the backend with object.__new__(GlmKpoolSparseAttention), as the existing tests do. Then call _dispatch_sparse_core_sm120 with BF16 kv_rows and assert pytest.raises(NotImplementedError). Put the test in tests/unittest/_torch/attention/sparse/glm_kpool/test_kernels.py.

Add a CPU-safe test for the non-FP8 cache rejection in
`_dispatch_sparse_core_sm120`: construct `GlmKpoolSparseAttention` with
`object.__new__`, pass BF16 `kv_rows`, and assert that the call raises
`NotImplementedError`. Place the test alongside the existing GLM k-pool kernel
tests.

Add the SM120 kernel test to an SM120 CI list.
test_fp8_sparse_core_sm120_matches_dequantized_cache_and_replays_graph skips on every GPU except SM120 and SM121. The RTX PRO 6000 list selects sparse/csa2, sparse/test_flashinfer_utils.py, and attention/test_attention_mla.py. It does not select sparse/glm_kpool. This PR adds only the accuracy test to that list. The new kernel test therefore appears not to run in the RTX PRO 6000 stage, so a regression in the SM120 path would be caught only by the long accuracy test.
Add the glm_kpool directory to l0_rtx_pro_6000.yml, or add the specific file:

What's the E2E time of this new test on RTX Pro 6000D? Our CI doesn't have RTX Pro 6000, only RTX Pro 6000D. Because we have very few RTX Pro 6000D GPUs, we'd prefer unit tests over E2E integration tests for verification and regression.
