[None][fix] Disaggregated Responses: open the stream and keep it alive while the context phase runs - #21452
On the disaggregated server, a streamed /v1/responses request receives no bytes at all, not even the HTTP status line, until the context phase is done. The route awaits the pipeline before it creates the StreamingResponse, and the pipeline returns its stream only once the context worker has answered: in context-first order that is the context POST, which never streams, and in generation-first order the pipeline also waits for the context response before it returns the generation stream. Queueing plus prefill of a long agent prompt takes tens of seconds to minutes under load, and a client, or a gateway in front of it, that drops a stream without a first event loses the request: Codex behind a gateway gives up after about 120 s, and its retry starts the prefill over. An aggregated server sends response.created and response.in_progress at once and repeats response.in_progress whenever the stream is silent for 15 s (keep_responses_stream_alive); behind the disaggregated server the generation worker does the same, but only once its stream starts.
This change, for a streamed /v1/responses request on the disaggregated server:
answers a pipeline that completes within the wait exactly as before: its stream is relayed as it comes, and a failure keeps its HTTP status and body;
for a pipeline still running after the wait, returns the StreamingResponse at once. The stream starts with response.created and response.in_progress built from the request, the way a worker builds them (ResponsesStreamingProcessor.get_initial_responses), and keep_responses_stream_alive repeats that response.in_progress whenever the stream is silent for 15 s, exactly, with only the sequence number advancing, as an aggregated server does. The client so has the status line and both events within 1 s, and an event at least every 15 s for the whole stream: while the context phase and the wait for the first token run, and whenever the worker is silent later;
relays the worker's stream after that without any response.created or response.in_progress of the worker's, wherever it comes, with every other event numbered to continue the client's sequence, so the client sees one sequence numbered from 0 (relay_after_opening, new in responses_utils.py; it also reassembles events that the transport splits). The worker's opening and its own keepalives, which repeat that opening, carry the worker's response object, not the one the client was opened with (its created_at comes from the worker's clock, for one). They are dropped rather than rewritten to the opening's object so that the client's keepalives have one source, this server's keep_responses_stream_alive, timed by what the client has received: relayed as well, a worker silent for 15 s had the client kept alive twice per interval. Dropping them loses nothing, as a worker's keepalive repeats its own opening, and they still keep the connection between this server and the worker busy;
forwards the request's request_id to the workers, so that they answer under the response id the opening named. A worker names its response after request_id, and already honours one the client sets; ResponsesRequest mints one when parsing, but a minted value is unset and so was never forwarded, and each worker minted its own. Assigning it marks it set. The context worker gets the same id, so a response the context phase finishes, which the server replays, carries it too. Responses are not stored on a disaggregated server (store is forced off), so the two workers sharing the id is harmless;
if the pipeline fails after the stream started, ends the stream with error and response.failed, the events the aggregated route sends for a stream that fails, instead of an HTTP error status. Both carry the message of the error response the request would otherwise have received; response.failed has the opening's id, status failed and error code server_error. The stream then ends normally;
cancels the pipeline when the client disconnects, before or after the response starts, which stops the proxy's context request as it stops any abandoned request. In context-first order with conditional disaggregation, a cancelled context phase now also releases the generation server reserved for the request, as a failed one already did (the same one-line change as in [None][fix] Disaggregated Anthropic Messages: start the stream and ping while the context phase runs #21388);
waits for the pipeline as before when the opening cannot be built from the request alone, as for a sampling parameter out of range, which the context worker rejects.
Behavior change: a streamed Responses request whose pipeline takes longer than 1 s now gets HTTP 200 at once and a later failure as error and response.failed events, where it used to get the failure as an HTTP error status after the context phase. The opening is built before any worker answers, so it names the model as the request does. The worker's terminal event (response.completed, response.incomplete or response.failed) is relayed with the worker's final response object, so its created_at is the worker's, and its model is the name the worker serves the model under, if that differs. Non-streamed requests, and the completions, chat completions and Anthropic routes, are unchanged. The Responses section of docs/source/features/disagg-serving.md, which said that a streamed response carries the generation worker's events unchanged, now describes this.
This PR is independent of #21388, the same fix for /v1/messages. Together they conflict only in two import statements of openai_disagg_server.py, from typing import ... and from tensorrt_llm.serve.responses_utils import (...), where both add names; the resolution keeps the names of both. They share one identical hunk, the except (Exception, asyncio.CancelledError) in openai_disagg_service.py with its test, which merges without a conflict.
Test Coverage
New tests in tests/unittest/disaggregated/test_disagg_responses_api.py (CPU only; l0_cpu.yml lists unittest/disaggregated). They run the real /v1/responses route, as register_routes registers it, with _wrap_entry_point and OpenAIDisaggregatedService, in both schedule orders, over fake context and generation workers with no network. Each worker parses its request from the body the service forwards, and the generation worker sends its stream in pieces cut anywhere, as the transport delivers it. The tests drive the ASGI app directly, so they decide when the context phase ends and when the client leaves, and they patch the start wait and the keepalive interval to 50 ms.
test_responses_stream_opens_and_keeps_alive_while_the_context_phase_runs[context_first|generation_first]: the status line goes out while the context phase still runs; response.created, response.in_progress and at least one repeat of it come before the generation worker's events, which follow without its opening; the client sees one sequence numbered from 0, and one response id, the one the generation worker was asked to answer under.
test_every_keepalive_of_an_opened_stream_repeats_its_opening[...]: the generation worker is silent after its first output for longer than the keepalive interval, so its own keep_responses_stream_alive sends its response.in_progress again, with its own response object. The client is kept alive meanwhile, every response.in_progress it gets is the opening's with only the sequence number advanced, none is the worker's, and the worker's other events follow in one sequence for one response id. Before the relay dropped the worker's keepalives, the client got them too, alternating with this server's: two keepalives per interval, half of them with the worker's created_at.
test_responses_stream_after_a_fast_context_phase_is_the_generation_stream[...]: with the default wait and interval, a fast context phase streams exactly the generation worker's stream, with one opening and the worker's own numbering.
test_responses_stream_with_a_fast_context_failure_is_an_http_error[over_length_400|503-...]: a context worker's fast rejection, an over-length 400 or a 503, returns its HTTP status and body, the same answer the non-streamed request gets.
test_responses_stream_with_a_late_context_failure_ends_with_response_failed[over_length_400|503-...]: a rejection after the stream started ends it, after the keepalives, with error (code upstream_error) and response.failed (the opening's id, status failed, code server_error), both with the message of the non-streamed error response and numbered in sequence; the response then ends normally.
test_a_non_streamed_response_still_waits_for_the_whole_pipeline[...]: a non-streamed request whose context phase outlasts the start wait gets the generation worker's JSON response.
test_a_request_no_opening_can_be_built_for_is_answered_by_its_pipeline[...]: a streamed request with top_p=2, which the context worker rejects after the start wait, gets that rejection as HTTP 400.
test_client_leaving_after_the_responses_stream_starts_cancels_the_context_phase[...], test_cancelling_the_responses_handler_during_its_wait_cancels_the_context_phase[...] and test_disconnect_before_the_responses_body_starts_cancels_the_context_phase[2.3|2.4-...]: a client that leaves once the response starts, a handler cancelled during its wait, and a disconnect before the body is iterated, under ASGI 2.3 and 2.4, each cancel the context call, and in generation-first order the generation stream too.
test_the_relay_drops_the_worker_opening_and_keepalives_and_numbers_the_rest[1|7|4096], test_the_relay_numbers_a_failure_the_worker_reported_before_its_opening, test_the_relay_passes_on_an_event_its_stream_stopped_inside and test_the_relay_closes_its_stream_when_it_stops_early: relay_after_opening on worker streams cut into pieces of 1, 7 and 4096 bytes, worker keepalives before and after the first output (both dropped), an error event the worker numbered 0, a stream cut inside an event, and a consumer that stops early.
New in tests/unittest/disaggregated/test_openai_disagg_service.py, identical to the test #21388 adds: test_context_cancellation_releases_conditional_generation_reservation, cancelling the context phase releases the generation server that conditional disaggregation reserved.
33 new tests. On main, 21 of them fail: the status line goes out only after the context phase, a late failure comes back as an HTTP error, the stream's response.in_progress events are all the worker's, the context call is not cancelled when the client leaves or disconnects, the reservation is not released, and the relay helper does not exist. The other 12, which cover fast answers, non-streamed requests, a request without an opening and a cancelled handler, pass there and here (as committed, 6 of them stop earlier on main, at patching the start wait, which main does not have; these counts are with that patch made non-raising). With the early opening removed, the 14 route tests among the 21 fail for the same reasons as on main; without the request_id forwarding, the stream names two response ids (4 fail); with the worker's response.in_progress events relayed again, the keepalive test and the relay test fail (5), as they do on this PR's previous head; with the relayed events left unnumbered, the relay tests fail (4).
In a CPU run without compiled bindings of tests/unittest/disaggregated, the Responses, Anthropic route, context-length, render, tool-parser and lazy-import tests under tests/unittest/llmapi, tests/unittest/others/test_lazy_getattr_errors.py and tests/unittest/inputs/test_chat_template_dispatch.py, every test has the same result here as on main except the 33 new ones: 2936 passed there, 2969 here. The tests that fail in that run need the compiled bindings, GPUs or model weights, and fail the same way on both.
Merged with #21388, with the two import statements resolved as above, test_openai_disagg_server.py, test_disagg_responses_api.py, test_openai_disagg_service.py, test_anthropic_adapter.py and test_anthropic_routes.py pass (442).

The /v1/responses streaming route now opens a client stream after waiting up to one second for the pipeline. If the pipeline remains active, the server sends opening and progress events, then relays worker events with client-side sequence numbers. The delayed path also reports pipeline and worker-read failures as Responses failure events, and handles cancellation and stream closure. Non-streaming requests retain the existing wrapper.
The relay filters worker opening and progress events and reassembles split events. Verify event framing and numbering, the one-second transition, failure handling, and cleanup when the client stops reading. Current review findings were not supplied, so severity counts are unavailable.

…e while the context phase runs
On the disaggregated server, a streamed /v1/responses request receives no
bytes at all, not even the HTTP status line, until the context phase is
done: the route awaits the pipeline before it creates the streaming
response, and the pipeline returns its stream only once the context worker
has answered, in both schedule orders. Queueing plus prefill of a long
agent prompt can take minutes, and a client or gateway that drops a stream
without a first event loses the request (Codex behind a gateway gives up
after about 120 s); its retry starts the prefill over. An aggregated server
sends response.created at once and repeats response.in_progress while the
stream is silent.
A streamed request now waits for its pipeline for at most
_RESPONSES_STREAM_START_WAIT_S (1 s). A pipeline that answers within the
wait is answered as before, its failures with their HTTP status. For one
still running, the stream starts with response.created and
response.in_progress built from the request, and
keep_responses_stream_alive repeats response.in_progress whenever the
stream is silent. The worker's stream follows without its own opening
events, numbered to continue the sequence the client has. The request id
is forwarded to the workers, so that they answer under the id the opening
named. A pipeline that fails after the stream started ends it with error
and response.failed, which carry the message of the HTTP error the request
would otherwise have received. A client that disconnects first cancels the
pipeline, and a cancelled context phase releases a generation server
reserved for the request.
Non-streamed requests and the other routes are unchanged.

Walkthrough
The /v1/responses route now handles streamed requests separately. It can start a stream while context processing continues, relay generation-worker events with continued numbering, and report later failures as stream events. Cancellation releases reserved generation capacity.
The relay buffers SSE chunks, skips worker opening and keepalive events, continues event numbering, passes through trailing partial data, and closes the source stream. Tests cover chunking, early errors, and early closure.
The route waits up to one second for the pipeline. If the pipeline is still running, it sends server-generated opening and keepalive events, then relays worker events or failure events. Tests cover scheduling, failures, non-streaming requests, and cancellation. The documentation describes this behavior.
Release reservations on context cancellation tensorrt_llm/serve/openai_disagg_service.py, tests/unittest/disaggregated/test_openai_disagg_service.py
The context-request failure handler now releases a reserved generation server when cancellation occurs. A test checks that generation is not sent after cancellation.

… its opening only
Once the server had opened a stream, the relay still passed the generation
worker's own keepalives, its repeats of response.in_progress, on to the
client. They carry the worker's response object, created on the worker's
clock, not the one the client was opened with, while an aggregated server
repeats the stream's first response.in_progress exactly. They also came on
top of the keepalives this server sends, so a silent worker had the client
kept alive twice.
The relay now drops every response.created and response.in_progress of the
worker's, wherever it comes. That loses nothing, since a worker's keepalive
repeats its own opening: the client is kept alive by this server alone,
with the opening's response.in_progress and the next sequence number.

Emit response.failed for worker read failures after the stream opens.
The delayed stream uses stream_error_event, which emits only error, and then re-raises the worker read exception. The delayed relay does not add the server-generated response.failed event. Route this already-opened stream through processor.get_stream_failed_events, without nesting the existing guard and duplicating error.

tensorrt_llm/serve/openai_disagg_server.py:199-222 Minor · Stability & Availability · Quick win
Close the underlying service stream when the delayed response is abandoned.
When the pipeline completes after _ResponsesStreamingResponse is returned but before body iteration starts, the response closes only the unstarted keepalive generator. The pipeline cancellation is also a no-op because the pipeline is already complete. The prefetched StreamingResponse therefore retains its guard_responses_stream, and that wrapper does not close the service stream when it has not started. This can defer _close_gen_response() and generation-reservation release.
Give the delayed response an explicit close hook for the raw service stream. Invoke that hook when the completed pipeline result is a streaming response. The hook must close the raw stream directly, or guard_responses_stream must become an explicitly closable wrapper whose aclose() closes its source even before the first __anext__() call.

…er stream breaks, close it when abandoned
A delayed stream guards the generation worker's stream with the processor's
failed events, so a read failure before the terminal event ends the stream with
one error and one response.failed for the response it opened with, and the
stream then ends cleanly. A stream the pipeline answered with inside the start
wait keeps the bare error event. The delayed response closes the stream its
pipeline answered with however the response ends, also when the body never
started.

Worker read failures after the stream opens: valid. The delayed stream relayed the worker's stream through the guard that the shared entry-point wrapper put on every Responses stream. That guard ends the stream with a bare error event and re-raises. The guard now lives in openai_responses:
A stream the pipeline answers with inside the start wait is guarded as before. The worker's own response.created went out, so this server has no response of its own to fail.
The delayed stream guards the worker's unwrapped stream with processor.get_stream_failed_events inside relay_after_opening. A read failure before the terminal event now ends the stream with exactly one error and one response.failed. The response.failed is for the response the stream opened with, and its sequence numbers follow on.
The exception is caught there, so the stream then ends cleanly, as the pipeline-failure branch already does.
A new test covers both schedule styles with a generation stream whose connection fails after its first output.
Closing the service stream when the delayed response is abandoned: valid. The service stream is started before it is returned, so it was not lost, but closing it was left to garbage collection. _ResponsesStreamingResponse now cancels a pipeline that is still running. If the pipeline has already answered with a stream, it closes that stream, shielded, however the response ended. The delayed path now holds the unwrapped service stream, so the close reaches it directly: when the body never started, stopped early, or finished. guard_responses_stream is unchanged. A new test covers ASGI 2.3 and 2.4 with both schedule styles. In it the pipeline answers while the response starts, the client leaves before the body starts, and the generation stream is closed by the time the response returns.

@JunyiXu-nv Thanks. I inspected 9563f8ff96. The changes address both findings:
The delayed path uses processor.get_stream_failed_events inside relay_after_opening. It preserves the opened response’s identity, continues sequence numbering, and catches the reported exception so the stream ends cleanly. The fast path retains its existing error behavior.
_ResponsesStreamingResponse cancels a pending pipeline and shields closure of an already-returned service stream, including when body iteration never starts.
The regression assertions cover the failure-event sequence and cleanup under both schedule styles and ASGI 2.3/2.4. I reviewed the test source but did not run the tests.

Description
On the disaggregated server, a streamed
/v1/responsesrequest receives no bytes at all, not even the HTTP status line, until the context phase is done. The route awaits the pipeline before it creates theStreamingResponse, and the pipeline returns its stream only once the context worker has answered: in context-first order that is the context POST, which never streams, and in generation-first order the pipeline also waits for the context response before it returns the generation stream. Queueing plus prefill of a long agent prompt takes tens of seconds to minutes under load, and a client, or a gateway in front of it, that drops a stream without a first event loses the request: Codex behind a gateway gives up after about 120 s, and its retry starts the prefill over. An aggregated server sendsresponse.createdandresponse.in_progressat once and repeatsresponse.in_progresswhenever the stream is silent for 15 s (keep_responses_stream_alive); behind the disaggregated server the generation worker does the same, but only once its stream starts.This change, for a streamed
/v1/responsesrequest on the disaggregated server:/v1/responsesto a new handler,OpenAIDisaggServer.openai_responses, which starts the pipeline and waits for it for at most_RESPONSES_STREAM_START_WAIT_S(1 s), as [None][fix] Disaggregated Anthropic Messages: start the stream and ping while the context phase runs #21388 does for/v1/messages;StreamingResponseat once. The stream starts withresponse.createdandresponse.in_progressbuilt from the request, the way a worker builds them (ResponsesStreamingProcessor.get_initial_responses), andkeep_responses_stream_aliverepeats thatresponse.in_progresswhenever the stream is silent for 15 s, exactly, with only the sequence number advancing, as an aggregated server does. The client so has the status line and both events within 1 s, and an event at least every 15 s for the whole stream: while the context phase and the wait for the first token run, and whenever the worker is silent later;response.createdorresponse.in_progressof the worker's, wherever it comes, with every other event numbered to continue the client's sequence, so the client sees one sequence numbered from 0 (relay_after_opening, new inresponses_utils.py; it also reassembles events that the transport splits). The worker's opening and its own keepalives, which repeat that opening, carry the worker's response object, not the one the client was opened with (itscreated_atcomes from the worker's clock, for one). They are dropped rather than rewritten to the opening's object so that the client's keepalives have one source, this server'skeep_responses_stream_alive, timed by what the client has received: relayed as well, a worker silent for 15 s had the client kept alive twice per interval. Dropping them loses nothing, as a worker's keepalive repeats its own opening, and they still keep the connection between this server and the worker busy;request_idto the workers, so that they answer under the response id the opening named. A worker names its response afterrequest_id, and already honours one the client sets;ResponsesRequestmints one when parsing, but a minted value is unset and so was never forwarded, and each worker minted its own. Assigning it marks it set. The context worker gets the same id, so a response the context phase finishes, which the server replays, carries it too. Responses are not stored on a disaggregated server (storeis forced off), so the two workers sharing the id is harmless;errorandresponse.failed, the events the aggregated route sends for a stream that fails, instead of an HTTP error status. Both carry the message of the error response the request would otherwise have received;response.failedhas the opening's id, statusfailedand error codeserver_error. The stream then ends normally;Behavior change: a streamed Responses request whose pipeline takes longer than 1 s now gets HTTP 200 at once and a later failure as
errorandresponse.failedevents, where it used to get the failure as an HTTP error status after the context phase. The opening is built before any worker answers, so it names the model as the request does. The worker's terminal event (response.completed,response.incompleteorresponse.failed) is relayed with the worker's final response object, so itscreated_atis the worker's, and its model is the name the worker serves the model under, if that differs. Non-streamed requests, and the completions, chat completions and Anthropic routes, are unchanged. The Responses section ofdocs/source/features/disagg-serving.md, which said that a streamed response carries the generation worker's events unchanged, now describes this.This PR is independent of #21388, the same fix for
/v1/messages. Together they conflict only in two import statements ofopenai_disagg_server.py,from typing import ...andfrom tensorrt_llm.serve.responses_utils import (...), where both add names; the resolution keeps the names of both. They share one identical hunk, theexcept (Exception, asyncio.CancelledError)inopenai_disagg_service.pywith its test, which merges without a conflict.Test Coverage
New tests in
tests/unittest/disaggregated/test_disagg_responses_api.py(CPU only;l0_cpu.ymllistsunittest/disaggregated). They run the real/v1/responsesroute, asregister_routesregisters it, with_wrap_entry_pointandOpenAIDisaggregatedService, in both schedule orders, over fake context and generation workers with no network. Each worker parses its request from the body the service forwards, and the generation worker sends its stream in pieces cut anywhere, as the transport delivers it. The tests drive the ASGI app directly, so they decide when the context phase ends and when the client leaves, and they patch the start wait and the keepalive interval to 50 ms.test_responses_stream_opens_and_keeps_alive_while_the_context_phase_runs[context_first|generation_first]: the status line goes out while the context phase still runs;response.created,response.in_progressand at least one repeat of it come before the generation worker's events, which follow without its opening; the client sees one sequence numbered from 0, and one response id, the one the generation worker was asked to answer under.test_every_keepalive_of_an_opened_stream_repeats_its_opening[...]: the generation worker is silent after its first output for longer than the keepalive interval, so its ownkeep_responses_stream_alivesends itsresponse.in_progressagain, with its own response object. The client is kept alive meanwhile, everyresponse.in_progressit gets is the opening's with only the sequence number advanced, none is the worker's, and the worker's other events follow in one sequence for one response id. Before the relay dropped the worker's keepalives, the client got them too, alternating with this server's: two keepalives per interval, half of them with the worker'screated_at.test_responses_stream_after_a_fast_context_phase_is_the_generation_stream[...]: with the default wait and interval, a fast context phase streams exactly the generation worker's stream, with one opening and the worker's own numbering.test_responses_stream_with_a_fast_context_failure_is_an_http_error[over_length_400|503-...]: a context worker's fast rejection, an over-length 400 or a 503, returns its HTTP status and body, the same answer the non-streamed request gets.test_responses_stream_with_a_late_context_failure_ends_with_response_failed[over_length_400|503-...]: a rejection after the stream started ends it, after the keepalives, witherror(codeupstream_error) andresponse.failed(the opening's id, statusfailed, codeserver_error), both with the message of the non-streamed error response and numbered in sequence; the response then ends normally.test_a_non_streamed_response_still_waits_for_the_whole_pipeline[...]: a non-streamed request whose context phase outlasts the start wait gets the generation worker's JSON response.test_a_request_no_opening_can_be_built_for_is_answered_by_its_pipeline[...]: a streamed request withtop_p=2, which the context worker rejects after the start wait, gets that rejection as HTTP 400.test_client_leaving_after_the_responses_stream_starts_cancels_the_context_phase[...],test_cancelling_the_responses_handler_during_its_wait_cancels_the_context_phase[...]andtest_disconnect_before_the_responses_body_starts_cancels_the_context_phase[2.3|2.4-...]: a client that leaves once the response starts, a handler cancelled during its wait, and a disconnect before the body is iterated, under ASGI 2.3 and 2.4, each cancel the context call, and in generation-first order the generation stream too.test_the_relay_drops_the_worker_opening_and_keepalives_and_numbers_the_rest[1|7|4096],test_the_relay_numbers_a_failure_the_worker_reported_before_its_opening,test_the_relay_passes_on_an_event_its_stream_stopped_insideandtest_the_relay_closes_its_stream_when_it_stops_early:relay_after_openingon worker streams cut into pieces of 1, 7 and 4096 bytes, worker keepalives before and after the first output (both dropped), an error event the worker numbered 0, a stream cut inside an event, and a consumer that stops early.New in
tests/unittest/disaggregated/test_openai_disagg_service.py, identical to the test #21388 adds:test_context_cancellation_releases_conditional_generation_reservation, cancelling the context phase releases the generation server that conditional disaggregation reserved.33 new tests. On main, 21 of them fail: the status line goes out only after the context phase, a late failure comes back as an HTTP error, the stream's
response.in_progressevents are all the worker's, the context call is not cancelled when the client leaves or disconnects, the reservation is not released, and the relay helper does not exist. The other 12, which cover fast answers, non-streamed requests, a request without an opening and a cancelled handler, pass there and here (as committed, 6 of them stop earlier on main, at patching the start wait, which main does not have; these counts are with that patch made non-raising). With the early opening removed, the 14 route tests among the 21 fail for the same reasons as on main; without therequest_idforwarding, the stream names two response ids (4 fail); with the worker'sresponse.in_progressevents relayed again, the keepalive test and the relay test fail (5), as they do on this PR's previous head; with the relayed events left unnumbered, the relay tests fail (4).In a CPU run without compiled bindings of
tests/unittest/disaggregated, the Responses, Anthropic route, context-length, render, tool-parser and lazy-import tests undertests/unittest/llmapi,tests/unittest/others/test_lazy_getattr_errors.pyandtests/unittest/inputs/test_chat_template_dispatch.py, every test has the same result here as on main except the 33 new ones: 2936 passed there, 2969 here. The tests that fail in that run need the compiled bindings, GPUs or model weights, and fail the same way on both.Merged with #21388, with the two import statements resolved as above,

The
/v1/responsesstreaming route now opens a client stream after waiting up to one second for the pipeline. If the pipeline remains active, the server sends opening and progress events, then relays worker events with client-side sequence numbers. The delayed path also reports pipeline and worker-read failures as Responses failure events, and handles cancellation and stream closure. Non-streaming requests retain the existing wrapper.The relay filters worker opening and progress events and reassembles split events. Verify event framing and numbering, the one-second transition, failure handling, and cleanup when the client stops reading. Current review findings were not supplied, so severity counts are unavailable.
