NethVoice: CTI profile with transcription and summary logs CRITICAL database errors on every call #8169
Configure NethVoice without providing OpenAI nor DeepGram key
Create two users, alice and bob
In the CTI profile Advanced, enable the Transcription and Summary permission
Assign the Advanced profile to alice and the Base profile to bob
Call bob from alice using the CTI
Read the NethVoice logs using journalctl
Expected behavior
No error in the log. The call summary is either produced, or unavailable without errors.
Otherwise, satellite database and container should be stopped but the middleware should return no error.
Actual behavior
Every call logs the following lines. The middleware cannot reach the transcription database, because the database is not running:
nethcti-middleware [CRITICAL][SATELLITE-DB] Failed to ping database: failed to connect to `user=satellite database=satellite`:
127.0.0.1:20044 (127.0.0.1): dial error: dial tcp 127.0.0.1:20044: connect: connection refused
nethcti-middleware [CRITICAL][SATELLITE-DB] Failed to initialize database: failed to connect to `user=satellite database=satellite`:
127.0.0.1:20044 (127.0.0.1): dial error: dial tcp 127.0.0.1:20044: connect: connection refused
nethcti-middleware [WARNING][RESOLVE] satellite check failed for uniqueid 1789639021.17: sql: connection is already closed
The transcription database starts only when call or voicemail transcription is enabled in NethVoice Settings > Integrations. Enabling the options on a CTI profile does not start it, and the CTI client asks for the call summary anyway.
Workaround
Disable the Transcription and Summary permission from CTI profile if Satellite is not configured.
