I have recently started using the repap program to compress FASTQ files, and I noticed that the output files are in .rfq or .rfq.xz format. I am curious to know whether it is possible to use fastp with input files in these formats.
Could you please let me know if fastp can directly process .rfq or .rfq.xz files, or if I need to convert them back to FASTQ format before using them?
