📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe scan route now loads or creates a report, builds a nested page tree, and renders a 1200×630 Open Graph image. The Twitter route reuses this renderer. Scan metadata can exclude default images through a new ChangesDomain scan previews
Priority: ➖ Normal Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes Merge Risk: 🟠 High · up to Dynamic social previews can trigger expensive outbound scans and report writes when no stored report exists, potentially causing slow image responses and excess production load. Distinct nested paths may also render as duplicate rows. The scan path should be bounded and deduplicated, and child labels corrected before merge. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Use the full sub-path as the child label.
The map key is parts.slice(1).join("/"), but the label is only secondPart. For /docs/api/v1 and /docs/api/v2, the map holds two entries while both labels are api. The preview then shows two identical rows, and renderTreeNodes uses key={childLabel} at Line 330, which produces duplicate React keys.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift
Do not run an on-demand site scan inside the image route.
This block turns a public image URL into a multi-request crawler. runScanSite fetches up to 8 URLs with concurrency 4, and there is no timeout or deduplication. Three consequences follow:
twitter-image.tsxre-exports this same renderer, so one crawler visit starts two independent scans of the same domain, and both callsaveReportwith racing results.- Any client can request arbitrary
/scan/<domain>/opengraph-imagepaths and force outbound scans plus store writes. This is an amplification and cost vector. - A slow or hanging origin blocks image generation for as long as the scan runs, because
safeFetchtimeouts are not visible here.
Add an overall deadline, and prefer rendering a preview from the stored report only. If on-demand scanning must stay, deduplicate the work behind a single cached function shared by both image routes.
🛡️ Suggested direction

const siteUrl = domainToUrl(domain);
- const [scannedReport, fetchedOg] = await Promise.all([
- runScanSite({

- siteUrl,
- }),
- fetchOgTags(siteUrl, { fetch: safeFetch }).catch(() => ({})),
- ]);
+ // Shared, cached, deadline-bounded helper used by both image routes.
