What

Site-wide

  • One consistent design: shared button styles, a single content axis, plain light-purple / dark dividers
  • Black-and-white portraits (colour on hover), sticky header with a light shadow, original logo kept
  • Shared partials for page heroes and blog cards
  • Homepage, blog, talks, structure, branding, 404 and content pages moved to the new design
  • Contact page rebuilt around people and social links
  • Structure page no longer shows head counts
  • Homepage sponsor logos in colour

Sponsor page

  • /sponsor, /sponsor/individual and /sponsor/partnerships render one shared page (_partials/sponsor-page.html); only the checkout box on the right switches, each option keeps its own URL
  • Person: pick a monthly amount, straight to checkout
  • Company: interval + amount (or custom), with a note on what the amount pays for and when it reaches a partner level
  • Partner: Silver / Gold / Platinum selectable and directly bookable; tier data is shared with the cards further down
  • Below the fold: peer quote, sponsor logos, the developers being funded, "No accounting overhead", partner levels, how contributions count, FAQ

Existing URLs and the /join and /donate redirects are unchanged. sculpin generate --env=prod builds without errors.

Open points before merging

Marked with TODO (PHPF) in the code:

  • "Works on" claims for the funded developers (_partials/sponsor-page.html)
  • Hourly rate ($100) and impact examples in the company box
  • Confirm Open Collective accepts amount / interval on /donate
  • Wording of "Dedicated social media post every quarter" (Platinum)
  • Who is featured for which topic on the contact page (_pages/contact.html)
  • Check on mobile

Preview

This PR comes from a fork, so the Netlify preview needs the safe to preview label.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Give the site one consistent design: shared buttons, one content axis,
plain dividers, black-and-white portraits and a sticky header.

Rebuild the sponsor page around a checkout box. /sponsor,
/sponsor/individual and /sponsor/partnerships share one page and only
the box switches, so each option stays linkable. Companies pick an
interval and amount, partners can book Silver, Gold or Platinum
directly. The page adds the developers being funded, a peer quote and
a section on invoices and receipts.

Also rework the contact page around people, drop head counts from the
structure page and show homepage sponsor logos in colour.

sponsor-box-example The idea with the hourly rate is to show potential supporters their impact. E.g. word bicycle relief does it like this and I think it would help. But can be removed in a first version. Just an idea.

Love the idea with impact. I'm not sure about the partner vs company thing. I think we want to keep recommending people the existing tiers rather than lower monthly amounts?

@naderman Great! Thanks for the feedback! I think the PHP foundation needs both and it's more like a journey. Maybe as a company can combine both. Will try to iterate on that.
