A plugin for vMenu Enhanced that lets every player pick the theme they see, instead of the one the server picked. Their choice is saved on their own computer and comes back next time. No permissions, no settings.
Take the zip from the latest release, put the vMenu.ThemePicker folder in your server's resources, and add ensure vMenu.ThemePicker to your server config. Start order does not matter. You need vMenu Enhanced 1.0.7 or newer.
In game it sits under vMenu's Plugins menu, one row per theme plus one to go back to the server's theme.
The plugin is written in TypeScript, which is JavaScript with types added on top so mistakes are caught before the code ever runs. A build step turns it into one plain client.js file that your server can load.
- Install Node.js version 22 or newer. This is the program that runs the build.
- Open a terminal in this folder. A terminal is the window where you type commands instead of clicking. On Windows, open this folder in File Explorer, click the address bar, type
cmdand press Enter. - Type
npm ciand press Enter. That downloads what the build needs, including vMenu's plugin library. - Type
npm run buildand press Enter. It checks the code for mistakes first, then writes the finished resource tobuild/vMenu.ThemePicker/.
It builds against the @vespura/vmenu-plugin version pinned in package.json, so keep that in step with the vMenu your server runs. It needs vMenu Enhanced 1.0.7 or newer, because older versions speak an older plugin language and refuse to load it.
Want more themes than the four vMenu ships with? See the Custom Themes plugin.
