Platform Engineering · Cloud-Native Infrastructure · Open Source · Research Data Platforms
I’m a Senior Platform Engineer at the University of Chicago’s Center for Translational Data Science (CTDS), working on cloud-native infrastructure and platforms that support biomedical and scientific research.
My work spans Kubernetes, AWS, platform engineering, GitOps, DevOps/SRE, observability, infrastructure automation, and research data platforms. I also contribute to the open-source Gen3 ecosystem.
I’m a technical speaker at events and community forums including DevOpsDays and the Gen3 Community Forum, where I share practical lessons from building and operating production platforms.
I’m also interested in strengthening connections between industry, academia, researchers, and students. I help bring practical industry experience into academic and innovation communities through:
- technical talks and knowledge-sharing sessions
- mentoring and technical guidance
- judging and project evaluation
- technical and research review
- connecting academic communities with experienced industry professionals
My own areas of contribution are primarily platform engineering, cloud-native infrastructure, DevOps/SRE, research computing, biomedical data platforms, observability, and open source.
