Summary

python/__pycache__/lce_schema.cpython-314.pyc was committed together with the Python helper (#116, 2026-08-05). .gitignore only listed __pycache__/ and *.pyc later, and ignore rules do not apply to a file git already tracks. So every test run that imports the helper modified a tracked file.

This PR:

  • removes the file from the index;
  • drops the three .gitignore lines that repeated __pycache__/ and *.pyc.

The npm package never carried the file (npm pack --dry-run: 0 hits).

I scanned origin/main of the engine and the eleven content repositories for other files that do not belong in git: caches, IDE folders, node_modules, virtualenvs, logs, .DS_Store, build output. This was the only one.

Test plan

  • src/python-validator.test.ts: 8 passed. Afterwards git status --ignored lists the regenerated python/__pycache__/ as ignored, not modified.
  • npm pack --dry-run: no __pycache__.

python/__pycache__/lce_schema.cpython-314.pyc was committed with the
Python helper (#116, 2026-08-05), before .gitignore listed
__pycache__/ and *.pyc, so the ignore rules never applied to it and
every test run that imported the helper modified a tracked file. It is
removed from the index; .gitignore loses the three entries that
repeated __pycache__/ and *.pyc. The npm package never carried it.
