Adds 34 extensions. With the 14 already here and npm/System bundled in the launcher, that makes 50. They all follow the redesigned API: Backslash icons, a rich preview panel, filters, sections, submenus, a footer status, and live subtitles in the root search.

Linux desktop

  • Screenshot & Recording
  • Text from Screen (OCR)
  • Color Picker
  • Display
  • Caffeine
  • Power
  • System Monitor
  • Notifications
  • Drives
  • System Updates
  • Desktop Settings

Developers

  • Dev Utils
  • SSH Hosts
  • Terminal Sessions
  • Containers & VMs (distrobox, toolbx, libvirt)
  • Kubernetes
  • Docs (DevDocs, tldr, Arch Wiki, man)
  • GitLab
  • Jira
  • Sentry
  • Deployments (Vercel, Netlify)

Productivity

  • Calendar (ICS: Google, Outlook, iCloud, Fastmail, Proton)
  • Obsidian
  • Quick Notes
  • Passwords (pass, Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePassXC)
  • Notion
  • Home Assistant
  • Web Search
  • World Clock

Info & fun

  • Weather (Open-Meteo)
  • Dictionary
  • Hacker News & RSS
  • Spotify
  • Games (Steam, Lutris, Heroic, ProtonDB)

Also:

  • Registry entries for all 34, generated with backslash publish and checked by scripts/validate.ts.
  • The README table, now generated from the manifests.

Requires backslash-app/backslash#61 on main first. It adds the new icons and concealed copies. Passwords and Dev Utils use concealed copies, so passwords and generated passwords stay out of clipboard histories.

Permission choices worth reviewing

  • Fixed hosts for user-hosted services. Jira is limited to *.atlassian.net. Sentry is limited to its cloud regions and GitLab to gitlab.com (self-hosted isn't supported). Calendar lists the common providers.
  • Home Assistant declares the usual local and remote ranges (*.local, private networks, Tailscale, Nabu Casa, DuckDNS) rather than *.
  • Hacker News & RSS uses net = ["*"], because RSS feeds can be anywhere.
  • System Monitor reads /proc and /sys through grep: Deno won't open them without --allow-all. It has no network access, so nothing leaves the machine.
  • Obsidian reads ~, because vaults can be anywhere. It writes only through obsidian:// links.

Testing

  • deno fmt --check, deno lint, deno check and deno test -A pass (320 tests).
  • Every command was run with backslash run. Where a tool or service was missing, it was run against fake CLIs or a local mock API, including every write action of the service extensions.
  • A few were checked in the launcher under Xvfb: System Monitor, Color Picker, World Clock, Dev Utils, System Updates and Web Search.

Not verified against the real thing

  • The session's network blocked Open-Meteo, Wiktionary, Hacker News, Spotify, DevDocs, the Arch Wiki and DuckDuckGo. Those response shapes come from the APIs' documentation.
  • The service extensions have not been tried with real accounts: GitLab, Jira, Sentry, Vercel/Netlify, Notion, Home Assistant and Spotify.
  • Desktop-specific paths need real sessions: GNOME/KDE color-picker portal, KDE night light, clipboard after a capture.

The extensions check fails at deno check with 205 type errors (Icons.wind, Icons.camera… and the concealed option don't exist). This is expected: the workflow type-checks against the SDK on backslash main, and these icons and options arrive with backslash-app/backslash#61. Against that SDK, fmt, lint, check, test (320 tests) and scripts/validate.ts all pass locally. I'll re-run the check once #61 is merged.

Several new tests check generated shell scripts with `sh -n`, drive fake
CLIs or create temporary vaults and notes; they need those permissions.
