Problem and resulting behavior

Ran needs coherent component defaults and design guidance that agents can apply to real products. This PR organizes the project around npm components (ranui), npm utilities (ranuts), and portable design/interaction/acceptance methods distributed through the Ran agent plugin. The documentation website remains owned by packages/docs at ran.chaxus.com.

The component review covers all 40 registered elements across 37 owners, including Loading variants, Glass paths and Player adapters. Grouped commits refine foundations, composed inputs, reading/AI content, navigation, feedback and media. Nested portals now dismiss the innermost owned layer, preserve editor Escape handling and return focus correctly; modal autofocus respects focus already placed by consumers. Demo media loads on explicit intent.

Reviewable evidence

• Scope, per-owner outcomes and limitations: docs/superpowers/specs/2026-10-23-complete-component-review.md and its paired plan.
• Actual screenshots and continuous recordings: packages/ranui/test/evidence/, including 2026-10-24-overlay-composition/final-ownership.
• Reviewed screenshot changes: packages/ranui/test/visual/baseline-review.md. Unrelated baselines and pixel tolerances are preserved.
• Capture fixes remove viewport resizing and unintended micro-transitions caused by the fixture itself. Original failures and diagnostics are retained; behavior assertions were not weakened.

Local validation at this update

• Two fresh canonical strict visual runs: 148/148 each; 142 baseline image hashes verified.
• Expanded three-browser run: 1032/1035. The three failures were the same Select fixture Tab-order error; after correcting DOM adjacency, the complete layer suite passed 30/30 across Chromium, Firefox and WebKit. This is full coverage plus a focused repair run, not a claim of one uninterrupted 1035-pass run.
• Unit suite: 1705 tests; final affected-layer follow-up: 101 tests. SSR: 76 tests.
• Repository lint, types/builds, generated API/token/plugin docs, eight-language synchronization and Markdown links passed.
• Real packed-consumer verification passed with npm 12. A typed parser supports both array and package-keyed npm pack output; nine regressions passed on Node 24 and 26.
• GitHub CI at 175dc2c passed strict Linux arm64 visual comparison and Linux Node 24/26 plus macOS Node 26 build/tests. Lint exposed a new parser crossing ranuts rootDir; commit 31f8ab4 moves that tooling helper to root bin, preserving strict package boundaries. Package/tooling type-checks, all nine parser regressions, complete local lint and packed-consumer verification passed after the fix. CI for the new head is pending; earlier-head results are not presented as latest-head approval.

Remaining scope and release status

This remains a draft. Bounded browser/media evidence does not certify every device/provider, unify every optional Loading illustration, or accept Document's application UI. The plan retains broader visual-composition follow-ups and the requested remaining typed-tooling migration explicitly.

Prepared versions are ranui/ranuts 0.5.1 and dependent ranview 0.2.1. No packages have been published. Publication and Document integration follow completion of the remaining acceptance scope and required gates.
