javac compiles nothing if one of its arguments does not exist, so one splitter whose source file could not be written prevented every splitter from being compiled. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Daikon's Java output format uses daikon.Quant methods for fuzzy floating-point comparisons, array elements (getElement_*), and array sizes. PrefixFixer mangled the package and class names of these calls. Restore them, and translate getElement_* and size to Java array syntax. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* QuantFixer replaces the string-based rewriting. It does not parenthesize array accesses, so a nested array used as an index is recognized as an index array. * PrefixFixer leaves names starting with daikon.Quant alone. * getBaseName strips the "[]" suffix from array names, so array variables in splitting conditions are declared. * Add an end-to-end splitter test for daikon.Quant calls.
FileCompiler: - Do not pass nonexistent files to the compiler; report them instead. - Return errors from the recompilation as well as from the first compilation. - Capture the compiler's standard output (it was read from stderr), and include it in the returned diagnostics. SplitterFactory: - Load only splitters whose source files were written, and record the real reason (parse or write failure) for the others. - Delete a stale class file before writing a splitter's source. - Delete a partially-written source file when writing fails. Add SplitterLoadTest, which checks that an unparseable splitter does not prevent another splitter for the same program point from loading.
- Treat a lexical error (TokenMgrError) in a splitter condition like a parse error. - Include compiler standard output in the error output only when compilation fails. - Normalize paths when matching javac error output against source files. - Compute splitter source and class paths in one place, in SplitterObject. - Remove the redundant nonexistent-file filter from FileCompiler. - Test unwritable splitter files and lexical errors; clean up SplitterList after tests.
QuantFixer now runs after the StatementReplacer and the name fixers, and it uses the VarInfos to produce type-correct Java code that matches daikon.Quant semantics: a null array yields Quant's default value, the index may be a long, boolean elements are stored as longs, and char arrays are Strings. PrefixFixer leaves alone any name that does not start with a variable name, such as java.lang.Math.abs. The QuantCalls splitter test covers the new cases.
* Do not report duplicate compiler output from the javac recompilation, and skip a recompilation that would only repeat the first one. * Find erroneous files only in javac's standard error, and permit spaces in their names. * Report a failure to delete an old class file accurately, and register deleteOnExit before opening the splitter source file. * Move SplitterLoadTest to package daikon.split so SplitterList.remove can be package-private; restore FileIO.new_decl_format; skip the tests when splitters cannot be compiled. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…translatable daikon.Quant calls - QuantFixer rewrites daikon.Quant.size and getElement_* calls to Splitter helpers that take an array as a splitter represents it, so a call on an array of the wrong type does not compile. - QuantFixer reports an error for a daikon.Quant call that it cannot translate and whose argument is an array, instead of letting ArrayFixer convert the argument to the array's identity. - NullReplacer keeps a null literal that is compared with a call to daikon.Quant.getElement_String or getElement_Object. - PrefixFixer precomputes the identifiers that may start a variable name.
* Match only javac errors, not warnings, when finding erroneous files. * Recompile repeatedly, because javac reports errors in phases. * Move SplitterLoadTest to daikon/test/split. * Derive the paths of the written splitter source files instead of maintaining a parallel list. * Catch InvalidPathException when deleting splitter files.
* Report why a splitting condition cannot be translated, and report every untranslatable call rather than only the last one. * Compile and load only the splitters whose source files were written; an untranslatable condition previously caused every splitter for the program point to fail to compile. * Add int[] overloads of the Splitter helpers for arrays whose elements are used as indices, and a long[] getElement_Object for arrays of hashcodes. * Check that a daikon.Quant getElement_ method's element type matches the array's element type. * Reject any method call with an array argument (in ArrayFixer), not just daikon.Quant calls. * Run NullReplacer last, and replace null by 0 only when the other operand is represented by a hashcode. * Add a test that compiles, loads, and evaluates the QuantCalls splitters and checks the rejection messages.

Daikon reads version 2 declarations both now and after codespecs#880 removes support for version 1. In version 2, array variables are named "this.a[..]" rather than "this.a[]", so update the goal files and the test's expected values accordingly.
Pull request codespecs#868 also adds SplitterList.remove. With both definitions at the same place, merging the two pull requests yields a conflict that keeps one definition, rather than two methods with the same signature.
codespecs#870 makes SplitterFactory compile and load only the splitters whose source files were written, which a condition that cannot be translated requires. Use its implementation rather than a separate one; this pull request now depends on codespecs#870.

Depends on #870; this PR includes its changes. Merge #870 first.
Daikon's Java output format uses
daikon.Quantmethods for fuzzy floating-point comparisons, array elements (getElement_*), and array sizes. When such an invariant is used as a splitting condition (for example, in a .spinfo file written byExtractConsequentforruncluster.pl, #856),PrefixFixermangled the package and class names of these calls, so the splitter did not compile. This restores them, and translatesgetElement_*andsizeto Java array syntax. The new
QuantCallsSplitterTesttests this. This depends on #870, which makes
SplitterFactorycompile and load only the splitters whose source files were written; a condition that cannot be translated has no source file. Merge #870 first. This pull request includes its changes.
