The bundled icon was the old vermilion-on-black mark: a pink fringe around the tile and a wordmark crowding the right edge. Redraw it from the brand the app and apple-touch-icon use: Forest tile, white Newsreader Bold Italic "cot", lime dot, on the macOS icon grid (824px tile inset 100, r185, soft shadow), wordmark centered on its ink. icons/icon.svg is the source; scripts/make-app-icon-svg.py outlines the wordmark into it and scripts/make-app-icon.sh renders the PNGs, icns and ico.
Builds cot.app from a clean worktree reset to origin/main, installs it, then refreshes the bridge and agent hooks from the new collector, the same script the app's Repair Agent Hooks menu runs.
Runs the cot.run installer with HOME in a temp dir and its own container and port, so a new user's install (collector, ~/.cot, bridge, hooks, shell PATH) can be tried without touching the real one. Builds the collector from origin/main by default; 'release' uses the published image.
