I think we need to rethink how to find the metadata for fibsemOS, to avoid relying on the names of components.

Can we separate the "fix for fibsemOS new API", which just consists in the stage.reference_image = ref_img, and the "update to Tescan metadata" as 2 separate PRs? Maybe that would allow to merge the fix quicker.

I've reduced this PR to the fibsemOS API compatibility fix and moved the metadata, preset handling, and restoration changes to msd-768-improve-fibsemos-microscope-state-handling.
