Say in the template editor which mail an approved loan actually sends - #487
Conversation
Approving a loan that starts today sends «Pronto per il ritiro» (loan_pickup_ready). «Prestito approvato» (loan_approved) only goes out for a loan that starts on a later date, and «Pronto per il ritiro» follows on its start day. The editor described loan_approved as the mail sent whenever an administrator approves a request. A library edited it and kept receiving the untouched pickup mail. Both templates stay editable. Their descriptions now say when each one is sent, and name the other one. The expiry reminder no longer claims three days, since the advance is the one set in the advanced settings. All five locales are updated. tests/mail-template-approval.spec.js edits both templates through the settings form, approves a loan that starts today from the pending list, and checks in Mailpit that the reader gets the edited pickup mail and not the approval one. It also checks that the editor says so.

Reviewed changes
Reviewed the new mail-template descriptions against the code paths that actually send each template, plus the new E2E spec.
loan_approved/loan_pickup_readydescriptions — they now matchLoanApprovalController($isFutureLoan ? sendLoanApprovedNotification : sendPickupReadyNotification) and theMaintenanceServiceactivation sweep that sends pickup-ready on a scheduled loan's start day.loan_expiring_warningdescription — no longer hardcodes three days. The advance comes fromadvanced.days_before_expiry_warning.- Locales — all five catalogues swap the old keys for the new ones. The quoted names match each locale's
Pronto per il ritirolabel, andscripts/ci-check-locales.pypasses. tests/mail-template-approval.spec.js— edits both templates through the settings form, approves a loan that starts today, and asserts in Mailpit that the reader gets the edited pickup mail.

…store the mail settings whole An administrator who creates a loan that starts later also sends «Prestito approvato» (PrestitiController, state prenotato), and one created to be picked up sends «Pronto per il ritiro» (da_ritirare). The two descriptions spoke only of approving a request; they now say "approves or creates" and name the scheduled loan's start day, in all five locales. tests/mail-template-approval.spec.js restored the mail settings by updating the keys that existed before it: the keys its INSERT added (type, driver_mode, smtp_host...) stayed behind and pointed later suites at localhost:1025, NULLs came back as '' and backslashes doubled. It now copies the email rows into a table, as it already does for the templates, and puts them back with DELETE + INSERT ... SELECT. Ran it against a local install with Mailpit: it passes, and the email settings are identical before and after.

- Descriptions now cover loans created directly.
loan_approvednow says "approva o crea un prestito che inizia in una data futura".loan_pickup_readynow covers creating a loan to be picked up. Both matchPrestitiController.php:734-738(prenotato→ approved,da_ritirare→ pickup,in_corso→ none). All five locales are updated. - The spec now restores whole mail-settings rows. It snapshots the
emailrows ofsystem_settingsintozz_mail_backup_<RUN>, then puts them back withDELETE+INSERT … SELECT *infinally. Keys the test adds are removed, and NULLs and backslashes come back unchanged. Theesctab-split path is gone. - The spec checks the new wording. The card assertion now looks for the new "approva o crea …" text.

…emplate spec The spec's db() helper always passed -S "$E2E_DB_SOCKET". The deep-regression shards connect over TCP (E2E_DB_HOST/E2E_DB_PORT) and set no socket, so its first query ran "mysql -S -u root" and failed with "Can't connect ... through socket 'undefined'" on both attempts, in every run of shard 1. It now uses host and port when they are set and the socket otherwise, like loan-request-default-end.spec.js, and reads Mailpit from MAILPIT_API like the other mail specs. Ran it locally with only E2E_DB_HOST/E2E_DB_PORT set, as in CI: it passes.

db()passes-h E2E_DB_HOST(and-P E2E_DB_PORT) when the host is set, and otherwise uses-S E2E_DB_SOCKET.tests/archives-search.spec.jsuses the same precedence. Before, CI got-S undefined, because it sets no socket. - Mailpit's address comes from

…spec The four DELETE/INSERT statements of the cleanup now run in one mysql call inside a transaction. If any fails, the client exits without COMMIT, so the install is never left half restored and the backup tables stay. db() gets the JSDoc the other spec helpers have.

- Restore runs as one transaction. The
finallyblock now restoressystem_settingsandemail_templatesin a singlemysql -ecall wrapped inSTART TRANSACTION … COMMIT. Then oneDROP TABLEremoves both backups. Both tables are InnoDB (installer/database/schema.sql). The batch client stops at the first failed statement and disconnects withoutCOMMIT, which rolls back any partial restore and leaves the backups in place, as the new comment says. db()has a doc comment. The inline note became a JSDoc header. Behaviour is unchanged.

Why
A library reported that the mail templates it edited are not what readers receive. The edits are saved and used. The problem is that the template it edited is not the one that goes out.
Approving a loan that starts today sends «Pronto per il ritiro» (
loan_pickup_ready). «Prestito approvato» (loan_approved) only goes out when the loan starts on a later date, and «Pronto per il ritiro» then follows on its start day. An administrator who creates a loan directly triggers the same pair:prenotatosendsloan_approved,da_ritiraresendsloan_pickup_ready(PrestitiController). The editor describedloan_approvedas the mail sent whenever an administrator approves a loan request. So the library edited that one, and its readers kept getting the untouched pickup mail. What changes
loan_approved: an administrator approves or creates a loan that starts on a future date.loan_pickup_ready: an administrator approves a loan that starts right away or creates one to be picked up, and the start day of a scheduled loan.Tests
tests/mail-template-approval.spec.jsedits both templates through the settings form, then approves a loan that starts today from the pending list. It checks in Mailpit that the reader gets the edited «Pronto per il ritiro» and nothing from «Prestito approvato», and that the editor's description says so. It fails on the current descriptions and passes with this change. The spec copies the
emailsettings into a table before it starts and puts them back withDELETE+INSERT … SELECT, as it already did for the templates. The keys it adds no longer stay behind, and NULLs and backslashes come back unchanged. It passes against a local install with Mailpit, and the settings are identical before and after, including after a run that timed out.scripts/ci-check-locales.pyand the mail unit tests pass.Summary by CodeRabbit
