Behavior
Add transport-independent low-battery protection to the shared core. Both API
and MQTT compositions use a persisted latch: enter at or below 15%, leave at or
above 22%. Invalid readings preserve the latch. Below 30%, invert the complete
normal page. Protection shows a critical page and uses 24-hour sleep, including
the emergency display-reset path. Thresholds and sleep duration are overridable;
invalid threshold ordering fails compilation.
Base:
flowcool/Smart_Plant:upstream/staging-v2r1, created from upstreambcf373144b2d5c7e3a712fd02698e2e98e45aeed. No production identities, calibration, MQTT Maintenance/Storage behavior or other pending fixes are ported.
Keep version-independent
safe_mode.mark_successfuland existing BUSY guards. The separate CI commit copies the fork's existing YAML syntax workflow exactly.
Rollback: revert this PR on staging. Source delivery does not deploy firmware.
Verification
python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -p 'test_*.py': 9 tests pass. The newtests compile and run the actual YAML C++ lambdas at exact and adjacent
hysteresis/WARN boundaries, invalid values, charge recovery, and both valid
and missing gauge/time paths. They check the normal and emergency sleep
durations and confirmation ordering. Invalid threshold overrides fail C++
compilation as expected.
profiles:
esphome compile tmp/esphome-display-check/api.yamlandesphome compile tmp/esphome-display-check/mqtt.yaml. Both produced OTA,factory and ELF outputs. API hash
d82bc07f; MQTT hashf3ea6083.Fixtures replace only remote fonts, background path and credentials with
local/synthetic inputs. Actual feature lambdas and profile packages are used.
git diff --checkpasses. Semantic diff andLF line endings reviewed; the CI workflow is byte-identical to the fork's
existing check.
safe_mode.mark_successfulremains before both terminal sleep decisions. This preserves the upstream version-independent safeguard; the build proves
ESPHome 2026.9.0 compatibility and does not prove every historical release.
infra-3rr.25.9records the earlier 8/8 productionrollout. This source preparation does not repeat that rollout or contact
devices. Local firmware builds do not prove deployment or new hardware tests.
AI assistance
Codex prepared the port and deterministic tests. The author reviewed the source
diff, transport boundary, persisted state, drawing colors and sleep ordering.
