Adds CLI + skill support for the media listing from gitroomhq/postiz-app#1926:

  • src/api.ts: listMedia(page, search) calling GET /public/v1/media
  • postiz media:list [-s|--search] [-p|--page] (in src/commands/upload.ts, wired in src/index.ts)
  • SKILL.md (Rule 2 note, examples, Media Upload section), QUICK_START.md, FEATURES.md, CHANGELOG.md: tell agents to look for an already-uploaded file with media:list and reuse its path instead of uploading again

Do not merge before gitroomhq/postiz-app#1926 is deployed, otherwise media:list hits a non-existent endpoint.

Companion: gitroomhq/postiz-docs#239.

Tested: npm run build passes; media:list, --search and --page 2 return the expected JSON against a backend with the new endpoint; a separate agent followed SKILL.md end to end (help text, listing, search, pagination) and created a draft post using a path returned by media:list, confirmed via posts:list.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added the media:list command to browse previously uploaded media.
    • Search filenames without case sensitivity, view results newest-first, and select a page of 18 items.
    • View media details, including reusable file URLs.
  • Documentation

    • Added command usage guidance and examples for finding and reusing uploaded media.

Adds PostizAPI.listMedia and a `postiz media:list [--search] [--page]`
command backed by GET /public/v1/media (gitroomhq/postiz-app#1926), and
updates SKILL.md, QUICK_START.md, FEATURES.md and CHANGELOG.md so agents
look for an existing upload before uploading a file again.

Tested: build passes; media:list, --search and --page verified against a
backend running the new endpoint; a second agent followed SKILL.md end to
end and created a draft post with a path returned by media:list.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The CLI adds media:list to retrieve uploaded media with optional filename search and pagination. The command calls the media library API and prints JSON results. Documentation describes how to find and reuse returned media paths.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to e5797

Valid media-listing requests appear ready, but invalid page values may produce unexpected results. Confirm their behavior and deploy the required backend endpoint before merging.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to e5797

The new command uses the existing authenticated API client and does not itself upload or publish media. No introduced security breach was established, but server-side account isolation, media-path authorization, and endpoint deployment remain unverified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The new client capability exposes media-listing results to the CLI caller using the configured API key and server. Its effective data exposure depends on the backend's authorization scope; the inspected client cannot establish whether results are account-scoped or what maximum asset population is accessible.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The new method inherits the existing Authorization header and configured server URL. User-controlled search and page values enter encoded query parameters on a fixed endpoint; they do not select a different request path or change the supplied credential.
  • observed — The posting consumer forwards reused path strings through its existing media fields. The client does not establish asset ownership or continued existence, and the example's empty-result check establishes only that a path was selected. Whether the server enforces ownership and validity remains unresolved, rather than an observed bypass.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Listing and posting remain independent requests without a client reservation or transaction. The new GET creates no media requiring cleanup, and reuse avoids a new upload. Cancellation, repetition, ambiguous post failures, and rollback retain the existing post semantics; no new idempotency or recovery guarantee is introduced. Concurrent deletion or changed asset availability must be handled by backend rules that were not inspected.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Before rollout, verify that media listing enforces the intended API-key account scope and that post creation rejects unauthorized or invalid reused paths. Confirm the endpoint is deployed and that its response matches the documented reuse workflow.

Verify the backend prerequisite before merge.

This method calls the new /public/v1/media endpoint. Keep the merge gated on gitroomhq/postiz-app#1926 being deployed in every target environment. Without that deployment, media:list will fail with an API error.
