The channel docs said Discord and Telegram both support a per-channel bot picture and nickname. In postiz-app, only the Slack provider implements both changeNickname and changeProfilePicture, Discord implements changeNickname only (it sets the bot's nickname on the server), and Telegram implements neither. The menu item is labelled after what the provider supports, so Discord channels show "Change Bot Nickname" with no picture field.

  • general/channels/manage.mdx: the "Bot picture and nickname" section now lists Slack (picture and nickname) and Discord (nickname only, avatar stays the Postiz bot's own).
  • general/platforms/overview.mdx: the Discord, Slack, Telegram accordion says the same and drops Telegram.

Checked against discord.provider.ts, slack.provider.ts and the channel menu in postiz-app main.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Clarified bot customization options by platform: Slack can use a custom name and picture, while Discord can use a custom server nickname and retains the Postiz bot avatar.
    • Updated the platform overview to describe Slack’s per-channel name and picture settings and Discord’s per-server nickname setting.

Discord only supports a per-server bot nickname, Slack supports both name
and picture, and Telegram supports neither.

The documentation now describes Slack and Discord’s customization options and frames channel controls as platform-dependent. Available evidence does not establish a Telegram behavior mismatch that would block this documentation change.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in general/channels/manage.mdx: Replaces the general description of per-channel name and avatar overrides, including its references to Discord and Telegram, with platform-specific behavior: Slack’s option changes both name and picture; Discord’s changes the server nickname while retaining the Postiz bot avatar.
  • observed — Modified behavior in general/platforms/overview.mdx: The text now assigns per-channel display-name and picture overrides to Slack and a per-server nickname override to Discord; it removes the claim that Discord and Telegram can override display name and avatar per channel.

Bot-based platforms let a channel's posts appear under a name, and sometimes
an avatar, that are not the bot's defaults. The menu item is labelled after
what the platform supports:

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

State Telegram’s lack of overrides and scope the general claim.

The PR objective says Telegram supports neither override. The channel guide implies broader support, and the overview does not clarify Telegram’s limitation.

  • general/channels/manage.mdx#L62-L64: qualify the opening sentence and state that Telegram supports neither override.
  • general/platforms/overview.mdx#L260-L261: state that Telegram supports neither override.
