When the storage branch does not exist yet, _reset_git falls back to git checkout --orphan. If the first push then fails, every retry dies with "a branch named ... already exists", and so does every later corpus download and upload in the run. The orphan checkout also keeps the previously checked-out files, so a new storage branch starts with a copy of the default branch.

The fallback now points HEAD at an unborn branch with an empty index, which fixes both.

Found while deploying this fantastic tool in a few different projects. I guess I involuntarily manually fuzzed the fuzzer.
