Summary of Changes

Fixes #206

Root Cause

The CI workflow matrix for ubuntu-latest specified a pinned patch version '3.10.15'. When the GitHub Actions ubuntu-latest runner environment transitioned to newer Ubuntu versions (e.g. Ubuntu 26.04), pre-built Python binaries for older patch versions like 3.10.15 are not provided in the runner manifest cache (which offers 3.10.20+), causing actions/setup-python to exit with:

Error: The version '3.10.15' with architecture 'x64' was not found for Ubuntu 26.04.
The list of all available versions can be found here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/actions/python-versions/main/versions-manifest.json

Fix

  • Unpinned Python 3.10 on ubuntu-latest from '3.10.15' to '3.10'.
  • This matches the existing convention used for Python 3.11 ('3.11'), allowing actions/setup-python to dynamically select the latest available 3.10.x release for the runner OS and preventing future breakage across runner image updates.

Unpin '3.10.15' to '3.10' so actions/setup-python dynamically resolves the available Python 3.10 release in the runner manifest cache without failing on newer Ubuntu runners.
