Makes the chat quieter, as in the Claude desktop app.

What changes

  • Tool calls fold into one line. While the bot works on them, the line names the call it is on (a spinner and a light sweeping across the name) and swaps, rising, with each new call; the three dots under it go away. When the bot writes, asks or stops, the line becomes a summary by kind, in order, failures last: "Took 3 steps in the browser, ran 1 command (1 failed)". The arrow opens every call, each with its own line as before. A single finished call keeps its own line.
  • Routine messages show only the routine's name. The tag "Routine · " gets an arrow and opens the prompt the routine sent.
  • Mentions stand out. A handle like @writer reads in light blue in replies and messages (new --mention token, 4.5:1 in both themes, checked by the token test). E-mails, paths, code and links are left alone.

The panel buttons on a line (show in files, browser, screens) now sit inside the opened group; their tests open it first. Spec 15.3 and 20 updated. With less motion, the name of the current call stands still.

Manual test with the real Claude Code

  1. Give a bot a task that runs several tools in a row (read files, run commands, open a page).
  2. Watch the chat while it works: one line that changes with each call, no dots under it.
  3. When it replies, the line is a short summary; the arrow opens all the calls.
  4. Run a routine now: the chat shows only "Routine · " with an arrow, which opens the prompt.
  5. Ask a bot to mention another one: the @handle is light blue.

While the bot works, the line names the call it is on, with a light
sweeping across it, and changes with each new call. Once it is done,
the line sums the calls up by kind, with the failures at the end. The
arrow opens every call. A single finished call keeps its own line.
The tag with the routine's name opens what the routine asks; until
then the chat only shows the name.
A handle like @writer reads in light blue in replies and messages, so
it is not lost in the text. E-mails, paths, code and links are left
alone.
