# ONE-OFF, scratch branch only, deleted after use. Regenerates main's
# actions.lock with the estate repair order (regen_lock in
# standards/scripts/regen-dependabot-locks.sh), runs the governance gate's own
# check against the result, and prints the lock base64-encoded. It has no
# `uses:` steps, so it needs no lock entry to start. It writes nothing back:
# the lock reaches the repository in a reviewed PR.

P2 Badge Remove the scratch workflow before merging

This file declares itself a one-off scratch workflow that must be deleted after use, but this commit adds it to the repository with a trigger permanently tied to a temporary branch name. Once merged, any later recreation of or push to claude/new-session-th4e9w-lockregen will run this obsolete regeneration against the hard-coded repair branch and tool revisions; collect the required output on the scratch branch, then exclude this file from the merge.

P2 Badge Fail the job when regeneration commands fail

When cloning, installing the extension, running any repair script, or executing the governance gate returns nonzero, set -uo pipefail allows execution to continue; the explicit echo commands also replace the repair/gate exit statuses, and the final echo "DIFF-END" makes the step succeed. The workflow can therefore show a green run and expose an incomplete or invalid lock diff. Preserve the diagnostic output if needed, but accumulate failures and exit nonzero after printing the result.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Preserve failure diagnostics and report the saved gate status.

If a repair script or the governance gate returns non-zero, default Bash -e exits before the status output and lock diff. Capture each status in an if, print gate_rc rather than $? after the if, print the diff, and exit with the first non-zero status. This one-off branch workflow has a limited impact.

Update the repair-script loop and governance-gate invocation to capture each
command’s exit status with conditional handling, so failures do not stop the
workflow before status and diff output. Report the saved script and gate
statuses, retain the first non-zero status, print the lock diff, then exit with
that status.

P2 Badge Capture failures before errexit aborts the step

When a repair script returns nonzero, this subshell exits before printing its return code, and the gate invocation below similarly exits before GATE_RC, the hash, or the generated diff is emitted. GitHub invokes an unspecified Linux run shell as bash -e {0}, and set -uo pipefail does not disable that inherited -e; therefore the diagnostic/output behavior intended here requires explicitly capturing each status (for example in a conditional), printing the diff, and only then exiting nonzero.
