Ishaan Sandhwar: AI/ML engineering, retrieval, data pipelines and C++ systems. Open to internships.

B.Tech CSE (AI/ML) at Lovely Professional University, Punjab, class of 2028. I build ML and data systems end to end (retrieval, LLM pipelines, data engineering, C++ systems) and report results with baselines and intervals.
I check that each component earns its place with held-out splits and ablations. I once shipped a reranker switched off because the benchmark showed it did not transfer.

🧱 Selected work

EDU Revolution: five-stage agentic system for academic benefit nominations. Macro F1 0.916 on document types, +0.454 MRR over TF-IDF, 1,071 tests. Private repository. UPI Risk Desk: fraud-ring detection and merchant risk analytics. 121 dispute rings, 70 quality checks, 400 duplicates removed. Team of 5, my part was data engineering and the analytics model. The link opens my fork of the team leader's repository.

LifeLine: smart-city disaster response and evacuation simulator in C++17. 96 automated checks, A* settles 10 nodes against 35 for Dijkstra, 25,200 people per hour evacuated. Team of 5. Product Intelligence Engine: validated product records with evidence for every value. Quality 52.8 to 60.4 with no API key, 71% classified without an LLM, 1,000 rows in about 7 seconds. Team of 4.

PSO Feature Selection: binary particle swarm from scratch keeps 7 of 30 fraud features. ROC-AUC 0.977 against 0.986 with all 30, 98 frauds in the test set. Team of 2. Thread Management Library: priority thread pool and locks in C on POSIX threads. 6.59 times faster than sequential, 51 tests, zero ThreadSanitizer reports. Solo.
