Software Engineer focused on backend systems, cloud architecture, and data-intensive applications. I build software with Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and AWS, with interests in financial systems, SaaS platforms, and process automation.
- Building a multi-tenant photography SaaS platform from the ground up
- Experience designing APIs, database schemas, cloud infrastructure, and data processing pipelines
- Background in FinTech, reporting automation, and operational analytics
- Strong interest in backend architecture, database design, and performance optimization
- Currently expanding my AWS knowledge while continuing to deepen my backend engineering skills

A full-stack SaaS application designed for photographers to manage clients, bookings, galleries, and business operations.
Highlights:
- Multi-tenant architecture
- Role-based authorization
- jOOQ-powered persistence layer
- PostgreSQL with advanced JSONB usage
- Complex relational querying using CTEs, array aggregation, and keyset pagination
- Concurrent media upload pipeline with deduplication and metadata extraction
- AWS deployment architecture using ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, and CloudFront
Serverless employee management system built with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB, including authentication and role-based access controls.
Data engineering and analytics project examining U.S. school district funding trends from 2010β2020 using Python, PostgreSQL, and Jupyter.
Before moving into software engineering, I spent several years in FinTech supporting payment processing operations and building Python automation used for reporting and operational workflows across partner financial institutions.
That experience gave me a strong appreciation for reliable systems, data quality, and the operational side of software.
Outside of software, most of my time goes toward photography and classical piano.
Photography has taken me throughout the mountains and dark skies of Southwest Colorado and ultimately inspired the SaaS platform I'm currently building.
On the music side, I enjoy studying classical piano and have worked on pieces by composers such as Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff.
