1. in the current there is already a .Rproj file so no need to create another one
2. I think it would be best to have them download an exercice repo that only had the material they need, not the whole website...

@NeuroShepherd let's talk about this so I don't make mistake preparing this. I think I would just have a repo with a .Rproj file and the two R scripts - not renv (there is no packages, it's all base R)

Assuming this is only to replace the instructions at Downloading the material which I just reviewed, then yes a separate repo with .Rproj and the R scripts would be sufficient!

No other technical considerations occur to me right now so I would say go ahead.
