Modernize DOM guide (4): complete the Selection and traversal guide

This is another continuation of #41569. In that PR, I rebranded two guides: Selection and traversal, and Building and updating, which are incredibly thin and outdated, with the promise to update them to make them cover the full DOM spec. Here is the first part, which touches the Selection and traversal guide.
