Summary

Prepare the coordinated release of all three packages:

Package Version Tag
durabletask 1.12.0 v1.12.0
durabletask.azuremanaged 1.12.0 azuremanaged-v1.12.0
azure-functions-durable 2.0.0rc3 azurefunctions-v2.0.0rc3
  • Bump package versions and both providers' core dependency minimums to 1.12.0, including Azure Managed's azure-blob-payloads extra.
  • Move existing unreleased entries into the corresponding release sections, retaining empty Unreleased sections.
  • Preserve replay-breaking upgrade guidance and replace pending dependency-coordination language with the released compatibility contract.

Release coverage

Reviewed changes since v1.11.0, azuremanaged-v1.11.0, and azurefunctions-v2.0.0rc2. Existing changelog entries cover all user-facing changes: Python 3.15 support (#284), shared/duplicate task completion (#286), dataclass reconstruction (#283, core only), orchestration purge targeting (#279), terminal-state timer handling (#280), and external-event ordering and preservation across continue-as-new (#278, #281). Internal GitHub Actions updates (#282) are intentionally excluded.

Warning

The shared/nested task correction can change race winners during replay and cause NonDeterminismError for affected existing histories. Drain or isolate affected instances before adopting the new core SDK. Both provider releases require the corrected core SDK.

Validation

Parsed all three TOML manifests and verified versions, dependency floors, and release headings. Reviewed changelog formatting manually. Whitespace validation passes with CRLF treated as end-of-line, preserving the existing Azure Managed manifest line endings. No runtime code changes.

Publishing coordination

After merge, publish durabletask 1.12.0 first and confirm it is available on PyPI before publishing either provider. Create the package-specific tags listed above on the merged release commit. Mark the Azure Functions release as a prerelease. This PR does not create tags or GitHub releases.

🟢 Approval recommended
