User profile hover menu not reachable on tablet (landscape)

Describe the bug
Landscape iPad potentially assumes small desktop breakpoint, and unlike portrait mobile offers no dropdown on tap, seemingly only assuming precise pointer hover interaction to show the expanding menu with Profile, Settings, DMs and Logout options.

Preconditions
Be signed in.

Steps to reproduce

1. Check portait nav, click on avatar for expanded menu
2. Put the device into landscape orientation
3. Tap the avatar
4. See nothing happening
5. Try long–pressing the "gracefully degraded" link powering the avatar in hopes to open something in new tab at least; and end up on homepage

Expected behavior
Dropdown panel similar to desktop hover or mobile portrait is offered.

Actual behavior
Link to /auth eventually pointing to sumo home is only accessible; no hover fallback for tap on coarse pointer device.
