This pull request migrates the AWS infrastructure from using ElastiCache Redis to ElastiCache Valkey for the EdgeBalancer project. The update touches both the infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), operational scripts, and documentation to ensure all references and resources now use Valkey instead of Redis. This change will affect resource names, security groups, environment variables, and output values.

Key changes include:

Infrastructure updates (Terraform):

  • Replaced the aws_elasticache_serverless_cache.redis resource with aws_elasticache_serverless_cache.valkey, updating the engine to valkey and all associated resource names, tags, and security groups in aws/main.tf. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
  • Updated the ECS task definition to use the new Valkey endpoint for the REDIS_URL environment variable.

Operational script updates:

  • Modified the aws/aws.sh script to delete and reference Valkey resources instead of Redis, including all commands, resource names, and output messages. [1] [2] [3]

Documentation updates:

  • Updated architecture diagrams and comments to reference ElastiCache Valkey instead of Redis.
  • Minor cleanup in the project structure documentation in AGENTS.md.

Versioning:

  • Bumped the server package version from 5.12.39 to 5.12.40.
