What

Two pages on the marketing site, /privacy and /terms, written for what the product actually does rather than from a template, in the house voice: short sections, plain verbs, what happens and what never happens.

  • _components/LegalPage.tsx: the shell the two share (site chrome around a narrow reading measure, Section and Mail helpers), so the text carries the page.
  • /privacy: who it covers (the site, the hosted app, the account service; a self-hosted install is the person's own and sends us nothing but the sign-in), what is collected (account, content in the hosted app, keys added, operational records, the waitlist), how it is used, where rows go (to the providers the person configured, under their keys), who else sees it, cookies, keeping and deleting (30 days on request), security, rights, children, changes, contact.
  • /terms: scope (the hosted Service under these terms, the software under Apache 2.0), the Service and its invitation gate, accounts, the person's keys and providers, acceptable use, their content, our content (the company universe and the marks), availability, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, ending, governing law, changes, contact.
  • The footer is regrouped by what the information is: the fine print on the left (the copyright line, now naming Obris LLC as LICENSE and the terms do, then Privacy and Terms) and the places to go next on the right (Docs, GitHub). "All rights reserved" is gone: the software is Apache 2.0 and the line said otherwise. The sitemap lists both pages.

Decisions a reader should check: the operator is named as Obris LLC (the copyright holder in LICENSE); governing law is Massachusetts; the mailboxes are privacy@openbower.ai, support@openbower.ai and the existing security@, all routed. The effective date is today. Not legal advice; the first paid customer deserves a lawyer's read.

Verification

  • pnpm --filter @bower/marketing lint and typecheck pass.
  • Both pages render on the dev server (200) with the site chrome, 12 and 15 sections, and the footer links to each other.
  • No em dashes or double hyphens in the copy.

Two pages on the marketing site, /privacy and /terms, written for what
the product does: a self-hosted install sends us nothing but the
sign-in, keys are never pooled, rows go to the providers the person
configured under their keys, the software is Apache 2.0 and an install
is governed by that licence. The operator is Obris LLC, the law
Massachusetts, the mailboxes privacy@, support@ and security@.

The footer is regrouped by what the information is: the fine print on
the left (the copyright naming Obris LLC, the licence, Privacy, Terms)
and the places to go next on the right (Docs, GitHub); on a phone the
groups stack with the links first. "All rights reserved" is gone, since
the licence says otherwise. The sitemap lists both pages.
