feat(launcher): support rootless Podman as container engine (fixes #63) - #77
This PR adds complete support for running SpaceApp with rootless Podman (Podman ≥ 5) on Linux and on Podman machine on macOS within the run-spaceapp launcher, while leaving Docker as the default and keeping all existing Docker functionality 100% intact.
Acceptance Criteria Checklist
Engine selection: Added --engine docker|podman to install/reinstall, saved in config.json and automatically reused by all subsequent commands (up, down, status, logs, update, rollback, backup, restore, doctor, uninstall, etc.). When --engine is omitted, Docker is preferred if available. If only Podman is detected, interactive setup prompts to use Podman or selects it with --non-interactive. Supports --answers pre-seeding.
Compose execution: Dispatches through podman compose while preserving the exact Compose specification: profiles, file-based secrets, depends_on health conditions, init, resource limits, shared volumes, --wait, and exec/run with --user 10001:10001.
SELinux bind mounts: When running with Podman, renderWorkspaceCompose automatically appends bind: { selinux: "z" } (:z relabeling) to workspace bind mounts registered with workspace add so agents can read and write files with proper ownership under SELinux Enforcing (e.g., Fedora / RHEL).
macOS Podman Machine: Detects macOS Podman machine and inspects allocated CPU, memory, and disk against profile requirements. Outputs exact resize commands (podman machine stop, podman machine set, podman machine start) if insufficient.
Doctor & Support Bundle: doctor inspects and reports container engine details, version, rootless status, cgroup version (v1/v2), and CPU/memory limit delegation status. support-bundle includes the same diagnostic facts without leaking secrets.
Data Safety: Prevent accidental data loss. In-place engine switching on an existing installation is strictly refused with an instructive message explaining that Docker and Podman do not share volumes, guiding the user to migrate via spaceapp backup and spaceapp restore.
Host-root refusal: --access host-root is strictly refused under Podman with an explicit security explanation.
Unit tests: Added comprehensive unit tests in runtime.test.mjs, config.test.mjs, and prerequisites.test.mjs. All existing tests pass unchanged.
CI: Added a dedicated podman-linux gate job in .github/workflows/platform-matrix.yml running on ubuntu-latest.
Documentation: Updated packages/run-spaceapp/README.md, the root README.md, and docs/getting-started.md detailing Podman usage, SELinux, and operational limits.

The launcher adds rootless Podman support alongside Docker. Install accepts an engine selection, saves it in configuration, and uses it for Compose commands and diagnostics. The changes also add engine readiness checks, installation guidance, Podman-specific runtime checks, and documentation.

Summary
Engine configuration and Compose runtime packages/run-spaceapp/src/index.mjs, packages/run-spaceapp/tests/config.test.mjs, packages/run-spaceapp/tests/runtime.test.mjs
Configuration accepts Docker and Podman. Installation preparation saves the selected engine and rejects engine switches for existing installations. Compose commands use the configured engine, and Podman workspace mounts add SELinux z labeling. Tests cover validation, installation preparation, and Podman command output.
Engine detection and installation packages/run-spaceapp/src/prerequisites.mjs, packages/run-spaceapp/src/cli.mjs, packages/run-spaceapp/tests/prerequisites.test.mjs, README.md, docs/getting-started.md, packages/run-spaceapp/README.md
The CLI checks engine readiness, accepts --engine, and passes the selection into installation. Podman readiness requires successful version, Compose, and info commands. The documentation describes supported platforms, selection behavior, and engine constraints.
Engine operations and diagnostics packages/run-spaceapp/src/cli.mjs, packages/run-spaceapp/src/storage.mjs, packages/run-spaceapp/tests/cli.test.mjs
Doctor and support bundles report engine details. Storage inspection uses the selected engine and supports Podman storage fields. CLI checks include Podman machine resources on macOS and Podman-specific guidance.

Rootless Podman support has several gaps. Prerequisite checks can follow the Docker path, so a Podman-only host may be offered a Docker installation. Engine-switch protection can be bypassed or silently ignored. Factory reset can revert a Podman install to Docker. Offline installs and image caching misbehave under Podman. These should be fixed before merge.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The reviewed changes stay within issue #63. They modify launcher engine selection and execution, prerequisites, storage probes, diagnostics, configuration, tests, and the three requested documentation files. No changes target the explicitly out-of-scope Windows Podman Desktop on WSL, Podman installation, Kubernetes or Quadlet support, Podman-specific images, or other engines.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #63 requires a dedicated Linux Podman CI job. The reviewed .github/workflows/platform-matrix.yml contains only the existing launcher matrix and does not install the small profile with --engine podman --non-interactive, check /readyz, run backup, and run uninstall --purge-data. The supplied change summary supports the engine, compose, SELinux, diagnostics, safety, test, and documentation objectives, but it does not establish the required Podman integration path or the required CI job.
Resolution
Add a podman-linux job on ubuntu-latest that installs the small profile with --engine podman --non-interactive, waits for http://127.0.0.1:4911/readyz, runs backup, runs uninstall --purge-data, and verifies that no SpaceApp containers remain.

factory-reset resets a Podman installation to Docker.
factoryResetCommand removes config.json and calls initializeInstallation(root, { version: runtimeVersion }) without engine. prepareInstallation then sets engine: "docker" for the new config. Afterwards up, down, and other commands run docker compose against a host that may only have Podman.
Pass the previous engine. init at Line 401 has the same gap, but it creates a new installation.

Route prerequisite checks through the selected engine.
run() passes engine to ensureDocker, but its default is ensureDockerAvailable, which ignores that argument. The install path can therefore check Docker when --engine podman is selected. repairRuntime and updateCommand use the same Docker-only default and omit the configured engine.
Use ensureEngineAvailable as the default in run(), repairRuntime, and updateCommand. Pass engine: repaired.engine from repairRuntime and engine: config.engine from updateCommand. repairRuntime receives config: null from the repair entry path, so config.engine is not safe before config = repaired.

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
An explicit --engine on an existing installation is detected as a change but then dropped.
This hunk makes hasRequestedConfigChange return true when --engine differs from the saved engine. The non-fresh return at Lines 1258-1264 does not include requestedEngine. The confirmation plan at Lines 1235-1245 does not show the engine either.
installCommand then falls back to existingConfig.engine. For example, install --engine podman on a Docker installation runs a normal upgrade or repair with Docker. The output shows Engine: docker -> docker. The refusal in prepareInstallation is never reached, and the user gets no explanation.
Return requestedEngine: parsed.requestedEngine from the non-fresh path. Add the engine to the confirmation lines and to the Windows continuation actions. prepareInstallation then rejects the switch with its backup and restore guidance.

Treat a missing stored engine as docker in the switch guard.
The install path passes engine: "podman" when a legacy Docker installation requests Podman. Because the stored configuration has no engine, the current guard skips the switch refusal. The later assignment changes the configuration to Podman without requiring backup and restore.
