Adds coverage-guided fuzzing of the file readers, as #779 proposes, and runs it nightly.
fuzz/: one cargo-fuzz crate with its own workspace, outside RustGIS's. cargo build, cargo xtask ci, the wasm build, the workspace's cargo deny and the release build never build it, so there's no cost to PRs or to builds. It has seven targets:
Target
Calls
Covers
read_layers
io::read_layers, the first byte picking the extension
every vector format read_layers reads, from GeoJSON to LAZ
sniff
io::sniff_extension, then raster::read_bytes for a raster or read_layers
files without an extension, read as the app reads them
geotiff
raster::geotiff::read
GeoTIFF and the tiff crate
wkt
raster::wkt::read_wkt
.prj files and GeoPackage SRS rows
wkb
wkb::decode
GeoPackage, GeoParquet and PostGIS geometry
mvt
mvt::decode
vector tiles
project
Project::from_json
.rgis projects
Seeds: a seeds binary in the same crate writes well-formed files with RustGIS's own writers: the sample project's layers in nine formats (a format it can't write is an error, not a skipped seed), plus GeoTIFFs, WKT, WKB, a vector tile and projects. Fuzzing starts from real files, and the repository still commits no data. fuzz/README.md has the commands, and the steps for a failure: reproduce, minimise, fix in RustGIS's code, and add the input as a plain cargo test regression.
.github/workflows/fuzz.yml:
Runs: every target for 10 minutes a night (a matrix, so about 20 minutes of wall time), and for 60 s on a PR labelled ci:fuzz. Each target's corpus is cached between nights.
Limits: a panic, memory over 2 GB, or more than 10 s on one input is a finding. libFuzzer runs in fork mode with -ignore_crashes, -ignore_ooms and -ignore_timeouts, so it saves each finding and carries on; a target fails if it saved any.
On failure: the failing input is uploaded. At night a fuzz target's failure (not a licence failure) opens a "Fuzzing found a crash" issue if none is open. It doesn't close that issue on success, because the failing input isn't re-run.
Licences: a job runs cargo deny on the fuzz crate's own lockfile.
One crate instead of three, with a target per reader calling whichever library crate owns it.
Its own workflow, not a job in nightly.yml plus a ci-label.yml case. A crash report gets its own issue rather than a "Nightly build failed" one, and the change doesn't touch files other PRs are changing.
A seeds binary in the fuzz crate, not cargo xtask fuzz-seeds, so xtask doesn't depend on the engine.
Licence:[Feature]: Fuzz the file readers #779 says libfuzzer-sys is MIT/Apache-2.0. It's actually (MIT OR Apache-2.0) AND NCSA, because libFuzzer itself is under LLVM's old NCSA licence, which the workspace's deny.toml doesn't list. fuzz/deny.toml is the workspace file plus NCSA. Nothing in the crate ships, so the project's licence policy for RustGIS itself is unchanged.
Findings so far
Within a minute, read_layers and sniff both hit out-of-memory on FlatGeobuf. A 20 KB file whose feature-size prefix reads as about 2.7 GB makes flatgeobuf 6.0.1 resize its feature buffer to that size before reading anything (file_reader.rs:531). On the desktop that's a multi-gigabyte allocation for a tiny file, and in the browser it would abort the tab. Upstream fixed it on their main branch in August (flatgeobuf#507 caps a feature at 10 MB), but there has been no release since 6.0.1.
A second, found in the gate's 15 s pass, isn't fixed upstream: a string property's length isn't checked against the property buffer (flatgeobuf 6.0.1 properties_reader.rs:176, still the same on their main branch), so a corrupt length panics with "range end index 1090519096 out of range for slice of length 76". The desktop app catches the panic, but the browser would abort.
This PR doesn't change either reader. Until the release, the first nightly run will open the crash issue for it; fork mode keeps the rest of read_layers and sniff being explored meanwhile. For the first, the fix is to bump flatgeobuf when 6.0.2 or 7.0 ships, or to guard the size in RustGIS before that if maintainers prefer. The second needs a fix upstream, or a check of the property buffer in RustGIS before process_properties. The other five targets ran clean for 60 s each.
cargo metadata at the root doesn't list the fuzz crate.
cargo +nightly fuzz build -O (8 min cold, all targets and seeds), then the seeds and each target for 60 s and again for 15 s. Only the FlatGeobuf out-of-memory above was found.
cargo deny --manifest-path fuzz/Cargo.toml --locked check licenses passes with fuzz/deny.toml, and rejects NCSA without it.
Added automated checks for supported data formats and project files. Checks run nightly, on selected pull requests, or on demand, with configurable time limits.
Failed runs save inputs for investigation; scheduled failures can create or update an issue.
Added sample inputs for the checks.
Documentation
Added guidance for running checks locally, reproducing and minimizing failures, and working with sample inputs and generated artifacts.
One cargo-fuzz crate outside the workspace, with targets for
read_layers, sniffed files, GeoTIFF, WKT, WKB, vector tiles and
projects, and a seeds binary that writes well-formed files with
RustGIS's own writers. fuzz.yml runs every target for ten minutes a
night and for a minute on a ci:fuzz pull request, uploads failing
inputs and opens an issue at night. fuzz/deny.toml adds NCSA, the
licence of the libFuzzer that libfuzzer-sys compiles.

# RustGIS — instructions for agents
## Quality gates
`cargo xtask ci` (fmt, clippy -D warnings, tests, layers) before every commit.
A new dependency must have a licence `deny.toml` allows (CI runs `cargo deny check licenses`); after
changing dependencies, run `cargo xtask notices` to refresh the `THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.txt` files the
packages ship (the release build fails on stale ones).
Pull requests run CI on Linux; pushes to `main` add macOS and Windows. Label a pull request
`ci:windows`, `ci:macos` or `ci:full` to test there before merging (platform-specific code, paths,
file dialogs). The release build of the apps runs nightly (`.github/workflows/nightly.yml`), with every
platform's tests; a failure opens a `Nightly build failed` issue. `ci:full` also runs the release
build on the pull request.

Walkthrough
This change adds a standalone fuzz crate with seven targets and a seed-generation binary. A GitHub Actions workflow checks licenses and runs fuzz targets on a schedule, selected pull requests, or manual dispatch. Scheduled fuzz failures can create or update an issue.
Changes: Reader fuzzing
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Fuzz crate and reader targets fuzz/Cargo.toml, fuzz/fuzz_targets/*, fuzz/deny.toml, fuzz/.gitignore, fuzz/README.md
Adds a standalone fuzz package and seven targets for file readers, format decoders, and project JSON parsing. The crate has separate workspace settings and cargo-deny configuration. The README lists target coverage and documents setup and usage. The ignore file excludes generated fuzz data.
Seed corpus generation fuzz/Cargo.toml, fuzz/src/bin/seeds.rs
Adds a binary that writes seed corpora for readers, geometry, WKT, GeoTIFF, MVT, and project inputs. It uses sample project data where applicable and returns errors when required writes or lookups fail.
CI execution and reporting .github/workflows/fuzz.yml, fuzz/README.md
Adds license checks and fuzz runs with configured durations and resource limits. Failed targets upload available inputs. Scheduled fuzz failures can create an issue if no matching open issue exists, or comment on an existing issue when new targets are found. The README documents CI operation and crash handling.

Explanation
The title "test(fuzz): fuzz the file readers nightly" names the main change: a cargo-fuzz crate with targets for RustGIS file readers, run nightly. It follows a conventional-commit style and is short and specific. It does not mention the seed binary, the separate workflow, or the license handling, but the task does not require full coverage of the changeset.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the template's sections: Summary, Testing, and Related issue. It has no UI evidence section, which is correct because the change has no visible UI. The Summary explains what the change does and why, with a table of targets, the workflow behavior, and the differences from issue #779. The Testing section lists the commands run and the findings. The Related issue section reads "Closes #779". The description is thorough and fully meets the template.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changed files are the standalone fuzz/ crate and .github/workflows/fuzz.yml. Targets, seed generation, documentation, licence configuration, formatting checks, corpus handling, and issue reporting support the fuzzing requirements in [#779]. No unrelated product feature or separate clippy::indexing_slicing change is present.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
[#779] The PR adds the seven fuzz targets, seed generation, nightly and ci:fuzz workflow runs, resource limits, corpus caching, failure uploads, nightly issue reporting, and a fuzz-crate licence check. These parts meet the corresponding objectives.
[#779] The workflow uploads raw files from fuzz/artifacts/<target>/. It does not run minimization before upload or issue reporting. The README documents manual cargo fuzz tmin, but the CI failure report does not provide minimized inputs.
[#779] The PR reports two FlatGeobuf findings and does not fix either finding or add minimized-input regressions that run in plain cargo test.
[#779] The ci:fuzz workflow runs for any labeled pull request. It does not verify that the pull request changes reader code, although the issue specifies reader-related pull requests.
Resolution
For [#779], add CI minimization before upload and reference the minimized inputs in the failure report. Fix or guard the two reported FlatGeobuf findings, and add each minimized input as a passing plain cargo test regression. Restrict the ci:fuzz path to pull requests that change reader code, or revise the issue requirement if label-only scope is intentional.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
Docstring coverage is 75.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 4 functions across 8 files. Bug (high confidence): GeoPackage seeds are silently never written.write_bytes → write_bytes_in → projected_bytes (crates/data/src/io.rs ~L430) has no "gpkg" arm, so ("gpkg", "gpkg") returns Err(Unsupported). This let Ok(..) else { continue } swallows that, so the read_layers corpus has no GeoPackage seeds and the "nine formats" in the PR description is really eight. GeoPackage is one of the most-used readers, so it's the one most worth seeding.
Fix: write it with write_path (io.rs ~L445), which takes a path, into a fresh temp file (it refuses to overwrite), then read the bytes back. And don't swallow errors: propagate them with ? so a format that stops writing fails the seeding instead of quietly shrinking the corpus.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Right, thanks. Fixed in f297bcd: GeoPackage is written to a file with write_path and read back, so there are now 36 seeds per target, 4 of them SQLite. A format the binary can't write is now an error rather than a skipped seed.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Quality (medium confidence): the issue is titled "Fuzzing found a crash" for any failure of this workflow. The report job runs when either fuzz or licences fails. So a cargo-deny licence failure, a build error, a seed error or a timeout all open an issue that claims a crash. Consider a different title for non-crash failures, or check for uploaded artifacts before choosing the title.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Nit (low severity): inputs.seconds is interpolated straight into the shell script. A workflow_dispatch value reaches run: through ${{ }} expansion. Only users with write access can dispatch, so the risk is small, but the usual fix is to read it from the environment: put SECONDS_PER_TARGET in the step's env: and use -max_total_time="$SECONDS_PER_TARGET".
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Performance (low severity): each of the seven matrix jobs runs cargo fuzz build -O, which builds every target plus seeds with sanitizers. Cold, that is about 8 minutes per job, repeated seven times. The rust-cache helps after the first run, but each job still does work for targets it never runs. Building just ${{ matrix.target }} in each job, or building once in an earlier job and sharing the binaries as artifacts, would cut that.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
True. The jobs build in parallel, so a night costs about 20 minutes of wall time, not 7 × 8. Sharing one build would mean passing sanitizer binaries between jobs as artifacts, which is more machinery than the time is worth for now. Once the cache is warm on main, a build takes a few minutes.
GeoPackage seeds are silently never written (fuzz/src/bin/seeds.rs, medium-high confidence). write_bytes has no gpkg arm, so ("gpkg", "gpkg") returns Unsupported, and let Ok(..) else { continue } hides it. The read_layers corpus therefore has no GeoPackage seeds, and the "nine formats" in the description is really eight. Fix: write GeoPackage with write_path to a fresh temp file and read it back, and propagate errors instead of skipping.
The first nightly after merge will fail on the known FlatGeobuf out-of-memory in read_layers and sniff, and open a crash issue. The description acknowledges this. Decide whether to guard the feature-size prefix in RustGIS before merging, or accept the issue. High confidence it will happen.
Security
Nit, low severity:inputs.seconds is interpolated directly into the run: script (.github/workflows/fuzz.yml, line 83). Only users with write access can dispatch, but reading it from env is the safer pattern.
Performance
Low severity: every matrix job runs cargo fuzz build -O, which builds all targets and seeds. That is about 8 minutes cold, times seven jobs (fuzz.yml, line 75). Build only ${{ matrix.target }}, or build once and share the binaries as artifacts.
Quality
Medium confidence: the report job titles every failure "Fuzzing found a crash", including licence failures, build errors and timeouts (fuzz.yml, line 105). Use a neutral title, or check for uploaded artifacts first.
Nit:fuzz/deny.toml duplicates the allow list from ../deny.toml, so the two can drift. The file's comment already says to keep them in step.
AGENTS.md
The panic and unwrap rules do not apply to the fuzz crate, and the crate is kept out of the workspace, wasm and layering checks. The licence allowance for NCSA is scoped to the fuzz crate, which matches the description.
Per the "every crash fix gets a regression test" rule, the FlatGeobuf fix is deferred; the description records this.
What I checked: the fuzz targets and seeds against the current signatures of read_layers, sniff_extension, READ_EXTENSIONS, geotiff::read/write, read_wkt, to_wkt, from_epsg, wkb, mvt, Raster::new, GeoTransform, ColorHint, Project, Session, and Features. Those all match. I also checked the workflow's permissions, label gating, and matrix logic, and the action versions against the repo's other workflows. I did not run the build.

Compared with the base branch: the whole PR against main (merge base 38f2433 to PR head 40b5bb6).
Route sniffed raster names to raster::read_bytes in the sniff harness.
For a sniffed TIFF, the harness calls read_layers. That path does not reach the raster dispatch that production uses for sniffed TIFF downloads. Production sends the sniffed name through add_named_bytes, which calls raster::read_bytes for raster names. The harness never reaches that function, including its cog::Sparse container branch. The geotiff target calls geotiff::read directly, so the decoder itself is fuzzed. The gap is the sniff-to-raster dispatch.
Route raster names in the harness to raster::read_bytes, as in the diff below. JPEG 2000 names stay on read_layers, because production decodes them through GDAL and this harness cannot.

Update the sniff harness after `sniff_extension` to route raster names through
`raster::read_bytes` and keep non-raster names, including JPEG 2000, on
`read_layers`; use the generated name for both dispatch paths.

write_bytes has no GeoPackage writer, so the seeds binary writes it to
a file and reads it back, and a format it can't write is now an error
rather than a skipped seed. A sniffed raster goes to raster::read_bytes,
as the app sends it, with GeoTIFF seeds for that branch. The workflow
checks the seconds input before the shell sees it, and only a fuzz
target's failure opens the crash issue.

Bug (confidence: high).needs.fuzz.result == 'failure' is true for any failed step in a matrix leg, not only a crash. A failed cargo fuzz build, a broken seeds step, or a bad seconds value all open a "Fuzzing found a crash" issue with no crash input. The comment two lines up says "Only a fuzz target's failure is a crash", which the condition doesn't enforce.
Suggested fix: only report when a crash input was kept. The Keep the input that failed step uploads fuzz-<target> only when fuzz/artifacts/<target> has files (if-no-files-found: ignore). In the report step, check the run's artifacts with gh api "repos/$GITHUB_REPOSITORY/actions/runs/$GITHUB_RUN_ID/artifacts" --jq '.artifacts[].name' | grep -q '^fuzz-' and exit before creating the issue when none match. A timed-out leg is cancelled before that step runs, so it also won't count as a crash.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in 75525d6. A new Findings step fails a target only when it saved failing inputs, and only then are they uploaded. The report downloads those uploads and opens the issue only if there are any, so a failed build or seeds step fails the run without one.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Concern (confidence: high). The known FlatGeobuf out-of-memory input stops this target within a minute, and libFuzzer exits on the first OOM. Each nightly run therefore spends its 10-minute budget on the same crash, so read_layers (and sniff, which reaches FlatGeobuf by magic bytes) explores almost nothing else until the reader is fixed. A labelled ci:fuzz run on this PR will also fail for the same reason.
The README says to guard the call in RustGIS when that's cheap. If you don't want to wait for flatgeobuf 6.0.2, you could skip the picked extension in the target until the fix lands. This is a choice for the maintainers, and sniff needs the same skip:
Suggested change
let ext = READ_EXTENSIONS[usize::from(pick) % READ_EXTENSIONS.len()];
let ext = READ_EXTENSIONS[usize::from(pick) % READ_EXTENSIONS.len()];
// flatgeobuf 6.0.1 sizes its feature buffer from the file (upstream flatgeobuf#507): skip until fixed.
if ext == "fgb"{return;}
let _ = read_layers(&format!("fuzz.{ext}"), bytes);
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Good catch, fixed in 75525d6. libFuzzer now runs with -fork=1 -ignore_crashes=1 -ignore_ooms=1 -ignore_timeouts=1, so it saves each finding and carries on. Locally, read_layers ran its full 90 s past three FlatGeobuf out-of-memory hits, and coverage kept rising (8,732 to 8,985 edges) instead of stopping at the first.
The nightly report opens a "Fuzzing found a crash" issue for any failure of the fuzz matrix, including a failed build, seeds step, or timeout, not only a crash. Commented inline at .github/workflows/fuzz.yml:97. Confidence: high.
The known FlatGeobuf out-of-memory input stops read_layers (and sniff) within a minute each night, so those targets fuzz little else, and a labelled ci:fuzz run on this PR will fail. Commented inline at fuzz/fuzz_targets/read_layers.rs:11, with an optional skip for the fgb extension. Whether to ship that is for the maintainers. Confidence: high.
Security
No issues found. The fuzz jobs run on pull_request with contents: read and no secrets. The seconds input reaches the shell only through env and is validated as digits. The issue-search jq and quoting are safe.
Performance
Nothing significant. The corpus cache key includes run_id, so each run saves a new entry. That is fine under the cache limits, but it is worth knowing.
Quality
concurrency uses one group for both the nightly schedule and manual dispatch on main, with cancel-in-progress: true. A manual run would cancel an in-progress nightly. Confidence: low–medium.
fuzz/deny.toml duplicates the root deny.toml allow list and will drift. The comment says to keep them in step. Confidence: medium.
fuzz/src/bin/seeds.rs (around line 83) leaks the scratch directory on an early ? return. Minor. Confidence: high.
actions/cache@v6 is the only use of that action in the repo, and I could not confirm the tag exists offline. Confidence: low.
AGENTS.md
The new ci:fuzz label is not listed in AGENTS.md or docs/contributing.md, which document the other ci:* labels. It also needs to exist in the repository. Confidence: high.
The fuzz crate sits outside the workspace lint block and the cargo xtask ci gates. That matches the design, and the separate licence job covers the new dependencies. No other violations found.
I checked the fuzz targets and seeds against the crate APIs they call (io::read_layers, sniff_extension, raster::read_bytes, wkb::decode, mvt::decode, read_wkt, Project::from_json, Session::run). The signatures match. I did not compile the crate.

Reject a zero value for seconds in the fuzz step.
The validation at lines 83-84 accepts 0. The -max_total_time flag then receives 0, which libFuzzer reads as no time limit. A manual dispatch with seconds=0 runs each target until the 45-minute job timeout. This behavior predates the PR, so the fix can land as a follow-up.
Suggested fix
run: |
case "$SECONDS_PER_TARGET" in ''|*[!0-9]*) echo "::error::seconds must be a whole number"; exit 1;; esac
+ [ "$((10#$SECONDS_PER_TARGET))" -gt 0 ] || { echo "::error::seconds must be greater than zero"; exit 1; }
cargo fuzz run -O "$TARGET" -- -max_total_time="$SECONDS_PER_TARGET" -rss_limit_mb=2048 -timeout=10
The 10# prefix also rejects 00 and other zero-valued strings, which the case pattern alone does not reject.

libFuzzer runs in fork mode with -ignore_crashes, -ignore_ooms and
-ignore_timeouts, so a known failure (flatgeobuf 6.0.1's unchecked
feature size until its fix is released) doesn't stop a target after a
minute. A target fails only when it saved failing inputs, and only
those open the nightly issue; a failed build doesn't. The seconds input
must be above zero, and seeds writes its GeoPackages in the crate's own
target folder rather than a shared temporary one.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Fork mode, and a report based on findings, are answered inline.
CodeRabbit's follow-up is in too: seconds must be above zero, so 0 and 00 are both refused, since libFuzzer reads 0 as no limit.
Gate: cargo xtask ci, wasm, hooks, and the seeds rebuilt and checked (36 for read_layers, and 39 for sniff with the GeoTIFFs). The 15 s pass per target found only the FlatGeobuf case again.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Bug (medium confidence): a CRS with no WKT is skipped silently here, which contradicts the PR description ("a format it can't write is an error, not a skipped seed") and the comment on the read_layers seeds. If Crs::from_epsg or wkt::to_wkt returns None for one of EPSG, the seed set shrinks with no signal. Failing loudly matches the rest of the file.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
All six codes write WKT today; the run gives six wkt seeds. A code that stopped writing would only shrink that small seed set, not hide a format. I'll make it an error with the release quality pass rather than push again for it.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Robustness (high confidence): the check bounds the value only from below. A workflow_dispatch with seconds above roughly 2400 can't finish inside the job's 45-minute timeout-minutes, since the build and the seeds take time too. GitHub then cancels the job, and the if: failure() upload step doesn't run, so any findings from that run are lost without a message. Suggest rejecting values above a stated maximum (for example 2400) in the same case/test, with an ::error:: message.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Only a maintainer can dispatch a run by hand, and the default is 600. An upper bound tied to timeout-minutes is reasonable, and I'll add one with the next change to this workflow rather than push again for it.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Process note (high confidence): the PR description says the FlatGeobuf out-of-memory input (a ~20 KB file that makes flatgeobuf 6.0.1 resize to ~2.7 GB) will fail the first nightly run and open a "Fuzzing found a crash" issue. That happens because the reader is unfixed, not because of this PR's code. Either merge with a known-failure note or guard the feature-size read in RustGIS before merging, as fuzz/README.md suggests. Either way, the first nightly issue should be expected, not surprising.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Agreed, and the PR body says so under "First finding": the first nightly issue is expected. Fork mode keeps the rest of the target being explored meanwhile. Whether to guard the feature size in RustGIS or wait for the flatgeobuf release with #507 is a maintainers' call, so it's a separate change either way.
fuzz/src/bin/seeds.rs:111 (medium confidence): an EPSG code with no WKT is skipped silently. Crs::from_epsg(...).and_then(wkt::to_wkt) returns None and the seed set shrinks with no error. This contradicts the PR's stated rule that a format it can't write is an error, not a skipped seed. Inline comment with a suggestion posted.
fuzz/fuzz_targets/read_layers.rs:12 (high confidence the nightly will fail): the known FlatGeobuf out-of-memory input will open a "Fuzzing found a crash" issue on the first nightly after merge. The PR is correct that this comes from the unreleased flatgeobuf 6.0.1 bug, not from this change. Inline comment posted: either guard it in RustGIS now, as fuzz/README.md suggests, or expect the issue.
Security
No issues found. Top-level permissions is contents: read, and only the report job gets issues: write, which runs on schedule only. inputs.seconds reaches the shell through env and is checked to be digits. No untrusted ${{ }} values are interpolated into run: blocks. Action versions match the repo's other workflows.
Performance
.github/workflows/fuzz.yml:83 (high confidence): seconds has a lower bound but no upper bound. A dispatch above about 2400 can't finish in the 45-minute timeout-minutes. GitHub cancels the job, the if: failure() upload doesn't run, and findings from that run are lost without a message. Inline comment posted.
Quality
fuzz/fuzz_targets/read_layers.rs:11 (low): READ_EXTENSIONS[...] indexes, while AGENTS.md prefers get() for hostile input. The modulo keeps it in range, so this is only a style point. Use .get(...) with else { return } if you want it consistent.
fuzz/README.md (low): the seeds path target/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/release/seeds is host-specific and wrong on macOS and Windows. The seeds binary's own doc comment says cargo run --release --bin seeds, which is the portable form. Use one of them consistently.
fuzz/src/bin/seeds.rs (nit): if an error occurs between create_dir and the final remove_dir_all, the target/seeds-scratch folder is left behind. It is cleared on the next run, so this is harmless.
AGENTS.md
No violations found. Checked: no unwrap, expect, or unsafe in the new code; the fuzz crate is outside the workspace, so the wasm32 build and cargo xtask don't see it; no new assets; the root Cargo.lock is untouched; the fuzz crate has its own deny.toml, so the workspace licence policy is unchanged. The crate roots don't carry the #![deny(clippy::…)] block, but the crate is outside the workspace and the code doesn't need it. Low confidence this matters.
What I checked: the fuzz harness and seeds binary call signatures I could confirm in crates/data (read_layers, write_bytes, write_path, sniff_extension, raster::read_bytes, read_wkt, geotiff::write), crates/tiles (mvt::decode, encode), and crates/engine (Session::run, whose CmdResult error is String, so the ? calls compile). I did not compile the fuzz crate or run the workflow.
Change size
Compared with the base branch: the whole PR against main (merge base 38f2433 to PR head 75525d6).
Third round answered inline, without a new commit. On the two quality points: the READ_EXTENSIONS index is in range by the modulo, and the seeds path in the README is cargo-fuzz's default target folder. Both are left as they are.

CodeRabbit's three inline points are answered inline.
Its follow-up is in: when a crash issue is already open, a nightly run comments on it once a target that isn't named there yet starts failing. Repeat failures stay quiet.
The two items I told the Claude reviewer would come with the next change are also in: seconds is limited to 1–2400, and a coordinate system without WKT is an error in seeds.
Gate: cargo xtask ci, wasm, hooks, the seeds rebuilt and run (36 and 39), and 15 s per target. The only findings were FlatGeobuf, as before.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Bug (low impact, medium confidence): the nightly and a manual run share one concurrency group.group is keyed only on github.workflow and github.ref, and cancel-in-progress: true. A workflow_dispatch with a long seconds value that overlaps the 03:17 cron is cancelled by the cron run, or the reverse. A cancelled fuzz leg makes needs.fuzz.resultcancelled, so the report job skips the issue and the findings are lost.
Suggested fix: only cancel superseded pull request runs.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Bug (medium confidence): the 2400 s cap doesn't fit the 45-minute job timeout on a cold build. The cap comment assumes the build and the run fit in the timeout. At 2400 s the run alone is 40 minutes, which leaves about 5 minutes for the cache restore, cargo fuzz build -O, seeding and the findings step. The PR's own testing measured an 8-minute cold build. Swatinem/rust-cache keys on the rustc version, and the nightly toolchain changes daily, so a cold build is likely on nightly runs. A manual seconds=2400 run would then time out before the findings step and lose its findings.
Suggested fix: raise the timeout so the cap has headroom.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Process gap (medium confidence): nothing compiles the fuzz crate on pull requests. Only the ci:fuzz label, or the nightly run, builds fuzz/. cargo xtask ci and the wasm build never see it. If a PR renames or changes an API the targets call (read_layers, wkb::decode, Session::run, Project::from_json, …), the break shows up only at the next label or nightly run. The nightly Report job also opens no issue for a build failure, so the run goes red with no issue.
Options: add a cargo check --manifest-path fuzz/Cargo.toml step to the normal PR CI (confirm it runs on stable without the nightly fuzz build), or at least state in the PR that a build break is caught only by the nightly run.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
True: like the nightly real-data job, the fuzz crate is built only nightly and on a ci:fuzz PR, so the per-PR build stays as it is. If a change in RustGIS breaks it, the nightly Fuzz run fails visibly in Actions, without a crash issue. A separate "build broken" issue could follow if maintainers want one.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Quality / bug (high confidence): the scratch directory isn't cleaned up on failure and the per-PID name adds nothing. Line 85 names the folder by process ID. The only case that name ever clears is a PID collision, so it doesn't prevent reuse. The early ? returns on lines 87-88 and in the loop skip the remove_dir_all on line 150, so each failed run leaves target/seeds-scratch-<pid> behind, with a GeoPackage in it. Lines 87-88 are also more convoluted than they need to be. The README says to put CARGO_TARGET_DIR somewhere roomy, but this path ignores it.
Suggested fix: use one fixed folder, cleared at the start, and create it in one call.
Suggested change
let scratch = Path::new(env!("CARGO_MANIFEST_DIR")).join("target").join(format!("seeds-scratch-{}", std::process::id()));
let scratch = Path::new(env!("CARGO_MANIFEST_DIR")).join("target").join("seeds-scratch");
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
The per-process name came from CodeRabbit's point about two runs at once clearing each other's folder. A leftover from a crashed run sits in the crate's ignored target/ and does no harm, so I'll leave it rather than push again.
Sixth round answered inline, without a new commit.
@giswqs: fuzz.yml listens for a ci:fuzz label, which doesn't exist yet. If you'd like PR authors to be able to run the short fuzz pass, it needs creating. Nightly fuzzing works without it.
Since your last review, of 98589cd, the head is 8b7d482. It reads the crash-issue markers only from the workflow's own posts, matched on the app/github-actions login, and a manual run is no longer cancelled once it starts (cancel-in-progress is off for workflow_dispatch).
@Mavrick-F I’ll resume automatic reviews. Noted the marker-source filter and the manual-run concurrency change in 8b7d482 as context for the next review.

Bug (confidence ~65%): a label event can cancel a running ci:fuzz run. This group has no label name, and cancel-in-progress is true for pull_request. Labelling the PR with any other label (ci:windows, say) starts a run in the same group. Its jobs are all skipped, but the run still takes the group and cancels the in-flight fuzz run. ci-label.yml already avoids this by keying its group on github.event.label.name.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Right, fixed in 8bb9731: the concurrency group includes the label name, as ci-label.yml does, so another label's run no longer shares a group with the ci:fuzz run.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Bug (low severity, ~50%): the range check validates $n but the raw string is passed on. A 20-digit value can wrap in bash's 64-bit arithmetic to a small n that passes the check, while libFuzzer receives the unbounded original. The run then lasts until the job timeout and its findings are lost. Passing the validated value fixes this.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in 8bb9731: seconds must be at most four digits before the arithmetic runs, and the checked $n is what reaches -max_total_time. A 20-digit value is now rejected.
Label events can cancel a running ci:fuzz run (.github/workflows/fuzz.yml:27). The concurrency group has no label name and cancel-in-progress is true for pull_request. Adding any other label, such as ci:windows, starts a run in the same group whose jobs are all skipped, and that run cancels the fuzz run in flight. ci-label.yml already keys its group on the label name. Confidence ~65%. Inline suggestion posted.
Unvalidated value reaches libFuzzer (.github/workflows/fuzz.yml:95). The range check validates $n, but -max_total_time receives the raw $SECONDS_PER_TARGET. A very long digit string can wrap in bash arithmetic and pass the check. The run would then last until the job timeout and lose its findings. Low severity, ~50% confidence. Inline suggestion posted.
Known failure from day one. The PR says the first nightly run will fail on the FlatGeobuf OOM and the panic in properties_reader.rs, and will open a "Fuzzing found a crash" issue. The code is correct about this, but maintainers should decide whether to merge before a guard exists. Confidence high; this is a note, not a defect.
Security
No issues found. Only the fuzz workflow's own dispatch inputs reach the shell, and they pass through env: and a digit check. The report job reads artifact names and GITHUB_SHA only, and gets GH_TOKEN and RUN through env:. Permissions are contents: read at the top level, with issues: write only on the report job. Checked out PR code runs only under the ci:fuzz label, which a maintainer applies. Confidence high.
Performance
Seven matrix jobs each run a full cargo fuzz build -O over all eight binaries, so each job pays for the build. Building once and sharing the binaries as an artifact would cut the nightly CPU time. Confidence ~70%.
Quality
Inconsistent seed instructions. The doc comment in fuzz/src/bin/seeds.rs says cargo run --release --bin seeds. fuzz/README.md and the workflow run the binary from target/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/release/. The README path is Linux-only, so macOS and Windows contributors will get a missing-file error. Confidence high.
Drift risk in fuzz/deny.toml. It duplicates the root deny.toml's allow-list by hand. The file comment says to keep them in step, but nothing enforces that. Confidence high.
Fuzz crate roots lack the lint block that AGENTS.md requires on crate roots. There is no unwrap or unsafe in the new code, so this is consistency only. Confidence ~40%.
AGENTS.md
ci:fuzz is undocumented in the contributor docs. AGENTS.md and docs/contributing.md list the PR labels (ci:windows, ci:macos, ci:full), but not ci:fuzz. Only fuzz/README.md mentions it. Confidence high.
Nothing else in the diff conflicts with AGENTS.md. The fuzz crate sits outside the workspace, so the wasm build, cargo xtask ci and the layering check do not see it. Its licence exception (NCSA) is scoped to fuzz/deny.toml, as the PR describes. Confidence high. Action versions match the repo's other workflows.

The concurrency group includes the label name, so labelling a pull

each manual run has a group of its own, so a newer dispatch doesn't
replace a waiting one. seconds is at most four digits, so the range

Low-medium confidence (please verify): the corpus cache only carries over if its save step runs when the job fails. This job fails on purpose every night while the known FlatGeobuf finding is unfixed (the PR says so), so if actions/cache skips its post-save on a failed job, no corpus is ever kept between nights and the "cached between nights" claim in the header doesn't hold. Worth checking the action's behaviour, or saving explicitly with actions/cache/save under if: always().
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Confirmed and fixed in 0a855a6. actions/cache's post step has post-if: success(), so read_layers and sniff would never have saved their corpus while they fail on the known FlatGeobuf findings. The corpus is now restored with actions/cache/restore and saved with actions/cache/save in its own step. That step runs unless the run is cancelled, and never for pull requests.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Operational point, not a code defect: the PR's own findings say the FlatGeobuf out-of-memory is still reproducible on the pinned flatgeobuf 6.0.1. So the nightly fuzz matrix leg for read_layers will fail every night from the first run, and the report job opens a "Fuzzing found a crash" issue on day one. Either accept that as the expected state until the dependency ships a fix, or add a size check on the feature-length prefix in RustGIS before calling the reader, which the README already suggests as an option.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Expected, and described in the PR body: those two targets report the FlatGeobuf findings until they're fixed, and fork mode keeps the rest of each target being explored.

Quality gap: fuzz/ is outside the workspace, so cargo fmt --all (pre-commit), cargo clippy --workspace (pre-commit) and cargo xtask ci never see the fuzz crate. Nothing checks its formatting or lints, and the crate-root #![deny(clippy::unwrap_used, …)] convention doesn't apply to seeds.rs. This job is on stable with the default profile, so rustfmt and clippy are available here:
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in 0a855a6, the format half: the licences job also runs cargo fmt --manifest-path fuzz/Cargo.toml --check. Clippy would need a full build of the crate; the nightly build compiles it, which catches errors, if not lints.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
AGENTS.md says a new dependency needs a licence the repo's deny.toml allows. This PR adds libfuzzer-sys (NCSA via libFuzzer) and answers that with a second policy file that copies the root allow-list and adds NCSA. The root deny.toml doesn't list NCSA, so the two files will drift. Either add NCSA to the root deny.toml (a policy decision for maintainers, but it keeps one list), or record the fuzz-only exception in AGENTS.md. The "keep the rest in step" comment only documents the drift; it doesn't prevent it.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
The separate file is deliberate, and the PR body explains why. NCSA covers only libFuzzer, which is never shipped, so the policy for RustGIS itself stays unchanged. Both files' comments say to keep them in step.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
This line assumes the build lands in fuzz/target/, but the next paragraph tells people to set CARGO_TARGET_DIR somewhere roomy. With that set, the seeds binary is no longer at this path. Suggest either "find it under $CARGO_TARGET_DIR (or fuzz/target)" or using cargo run --release --bin seeds, which has no path to get wrong. The seeds binary's scratch folder is also hard-wired to fuzz/target in seeds.rs, so it ignores CARGO_TARGET_DIR too.
The fuzz read_layers target will fail every night from its first run. The PR's own findings show the FlatGeobuf out-of-memory and panic are still reproducible on the pinned flatgeobuf 6.0.1. Confidence: high that it fails; medium on whether that is acceptable. (.github/workflows/fuzz.yml:96)
Corpus persistence depends on actions/cache saving when the job fails. The job is red by design, so if the post-save is skipped on failure, nothing carries over between nights. Confidence: low-medium; needs checking against the action's behaviour. (.github/workflows/fuzz.yml:73)
Security
No issues found. Checked: run: blocks read only env vars (no expression injection); pull_request rather than pull_request_target, with contents: read; issues: write is limited to the schedule-only report job; artifact names come from the matrix. Confidence: high.
Performance
Each of the seven matrix legs does its own cold cargo fuzz build -O (about 8 minutes, per the PR). rust-cache only saves from the read_layers leg on main. Acceptable for a nightly job, but a single shared build would cut the cost. Confidence: medium.
Quality
The fuzz crate is outside the workspace, so cargo fmt --all and clippy --workspace (pre-commit and cargo xtask ci) never check it. Confidence: high. Inline suggestion added to the licences job, at fuzz.yml:46.
The target list is repeated in four places: the matrix, eight [[bin]] entries in fuzz/Cargo.toml, the README table, and the fuzz_targets/ files. Nothing checks they agree. Confidence: high (nit).
seeds.rs removes its scratch folder only on success (seeds.rs line 86 onward). Early ? returns leave fuzz/target/seeds-scratch-<pid> behind. Confidence: high (nit).
on: pull_request: types: [labeled] means a new push to a ci:fuzz PR does not re-fuzz. The header's wording suggests otherwise. Confidence: high (nit).
The new ci:fuzz label isn't listed beside the ci:macos/ci:windows/ci:full labels that ci-label.yml documents. Confidence: medium (nit).
AGENTS.md
A second licence policy file (fuzz/deny.toml) copies the root allow-list and adds NCSA, which the root deny.toml does not allow. AGENTS.md requires new dependencies to pass the repo's deny.toml. Confidence: medium. Inline comment at fuzz/deny.toml:3.
fuzz/README.md tells people to set CARGO_TARGET_DIR, but the seeds path it gives is hard-wired to fuzz/target. Confidence: high. Inline comment at fuzz/README.md:30.
Other AGENTS.md rules are met: no unwrap/expect/panic in the new code, no assets, and the fuzz crate doesn't affect wasm or layering.
I checked every API the fuzz targets and seeds.rs call against the crate sources, and their signatures match. I also confirmed that write_bytes and READ_EXTENSIONS cover all nine seed formats. I did not build or run anything (no shell here), so the compile claims rest on reading the source.

actions/cache saves only when the job passes, and a target with a
known finding fails every night, so its corpus never grew. The corpus
is now restored and saved as separate steps, the save running unless
the run is cancelled (and not for pull requests). The licences job
also checks the fuzz crate's formatting, which the workspace's cargo
fmt doesn't reach. seconds accepts leading zeros, and the README's
seeds path follows CARGO_TARGET_DIR.

Bug (confidence: medium).seen is the union of every target ever reported on the open issue, so once a target is in the marker it never gets a comment again. Scenario: sniff is reported, then fixed while read_layers stays open, then sniff regresses. Its failure is never announced, and the run only goes red. Consider comparing against the targets from the most recent report instead of the whole history, or documenting that regressions of reported targets are intentionally silent.

Intended: the issue stays open until its readers are fixed, and it's closed by hand, as the workflow header says. A target named there is already being dealt with. If one regresses after the issue is closed, the next run opens a new issue.

Nit (confidence: high). The scratch folder is hardcoded under CARGO_MANIFEST_DIR/target, but fuzz/README.md tells users to set CARGO_TARGET_DIR elsewhere because the sanitizer build is several GB. Using CARGO_TARGET_DIR when set would keep the scratch files with the build. Also, the ? returns in main skip the remove_dir_all at the end, so a failed run leaves the folder behind. A small guard or a cleanup-on-drop would cover both.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
The scratch folder holds a few KB of GeoPackages for the length of the run and is removed at the end, so it doesn't need to follow CARGO_TARGET_DIR. Left as it is.

Performance (confidence: low). Each of the seven matrix legs runs cargo fuzz build -O, which builds every target and seeds, and then runs only its own target. On a cache miss that is seven full sanitizer builds in parallel. This is probably acceptable with the shared rust-cache, but it is worth measuring on the first labelled PR. Building only what each leg needs would cut it, provided the seeds binary is still built.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Answered on the first round: the legs build in parallel, so a cold night costs about 20 minutes of wall time. The Rust cache is shared across the legs and saved from read_layers, so warm builds take a few minutes.
Report job never re-announces a regression of a target it has already reported on the open issue (.github/workflows/fuzz.yml, inline). Confidence: medium.
Security
No findings. The workflow keeps contents: read at top level and grants issues: write only to the report job. Fork PRs get a read-only token and no secrets. Nightly runs are gated on github.repository == 'opengeos/RustGIS'. PR runs can restore corpus caches but cannot save them, so they cannot poison main's cache. Inputs go through env:, not inline ${{ }} interpolation. The seconds validation handles leading zeros, empty input and out-of-range values correctly.
Performance
Each matrix leg runs cargo fuzz build -O for every target plus seeds, not just its own target (inline). Confidence: low.
Each night can save many artifacts for one known bug, such as the FlatGeobuf OOM, and the Findings step prints ls -l of all of them. Confidence: low.
Quality
Scratch folder ignores CARGO_TARGET_DIR, and ? early returns skip cleanup (fuzz/src/bin/seeds.rs, inline). Confidence: high, nit.
fuzz/deny.toml copies the workspace allow-list by hand, so the two can drift. Confidence: medium, nit.
docs/contributing.md lists the ci:windows, ci:macos and ci:full labels but not ci:fuzz. The label must also exist in the repo, which I could not check offline. Confidence: high, nit.
AGENTS.md
Never-crash: the FlatGeobuf out-of-memory finding is a real hostile-input crash in shipped read paths. AGENTS.md says to clamp sizes and to add a regression test for each crash fix. The PR documents the finding but does not fix it, and the first nightly will open a crash issue. Confidence: high. Worth deciding before merge whether the cheap size guard goes in now.
The seeds and fuzz targets use no unwrap, expect or unsafe. Their API calls match the repo's signatures, and the seeds' format names are all accepted by projected_bytes.
Quality gates: the fuzz crate is outside the workspace, so cargo xtask ci is unaffected. Its formatting falls under the root rustfmt.toml (width 140) and I found no line over that.
Checked and found fine: the seeds' Features derefs to Vec, so truncate and iter work. The read_layers and sniff targets match READ_EXTENSIONS and sniff_extension. The shp/zip seeds map to the zipped-shapefile reader. The 60-minute job timeout covers a 2400-second run plus a cold build.

Use the host triple in the documented seeds path.

Use the host triple in the documented seeds path.
The documented path hard-codes x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu. cargo-fuzz writes build output to target/<host-triple>/release/ by default. On macOS, Windows, or a non-x86 Linux host, the documented seeds path does not exist. Replace the fixed triple with the host triple reported by rustc +nightly -vV.

Review comment at @fuzz/README.md at line 30:
Update the documented seeds path to use the host triple reported by `rustc
+nightly -vV` instead of hard-coding `x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu`, while
preserving the `CARGO_TARGET_DIR` fallback and release/seeds path.
Add the run attempt to the corpus save key.
123-123: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Add the run attempt to the corpus save key.
A rerun keeps github.run_id, so it restores the first attempt's corpus under the same key. Caches are immutable, so the rerun's save cannot store its new inputs. Add github.run_attempt to the key so each attempt saves its own cache.

Review comment at @.github/workflows/fuzz.yml at line 123:
Update the corpus save key in the fuzz workflow to include github.run_attempt
alongside matrix.target and github.run_id, so each rerun saves to a distinct
cache key.

On CodeRabbit's two follow-ups to 0a855a6, both are fair and both are small. I'll take them in a follow-up rather than push to this PR again:
Seeds path: the README's path hard-codes x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu. It's right for CI and most contributors' Linux machines; the follow-up will use the host triple.
Corpus key: re-running a nightly attempt saves under the same key as the first attempt, so that attempt's new inputs aren't kept. The next night's run saves normally. The follow-up adds github.run_attempt to the key.

Summary
Adds coverage-guided fuzzing of the file readers, as #779 proposes, and runs it nightly.
fuzz/: one cargo-fuzz crate with its own workspace, outside RustGIS's.cargo build, cargo xtask ci, the wasm build, the workspace'scargo denyand the release build never build it, so there's no cost to PRs or to builds. It has seven targets:read_layersio::read_layers, the first byte picking the extensionread_layersreads, from GeoJSON to LAZsniffio::sniff_extension, thenraster::read_bytesfor a raster orread_layersgeotiffraster::geotiff::readtiffcratewktraster::wkt::read_wkt.prjfiles and GeoPackage SRS rowswkbwkb::decodemvtmvt::decodeprojectProject::from_json.rgisprojectsseedsbinary in the same crate writes well-formed files with RustGIS's own writers: the sample project's layers in nine formats (a format it can't write is an error, not a skipped seed), plus GeoTIFFs, WKT, WKB, a vector tile and projects. Fuzzing starts from real files, and the repository still commits no data.fuzz/README.mdhas the commands, and the steps for a failure: reproduce, minimise, fix in RustGIS's code, and add the input as a plaincargo testregression..github/workflows/fuzz.yml:ci:fuzz. Each target's corpus is cached between nights.-ignore_crashes,-ignore_oomsand-ignore_timeouts, so it saves each finding and carries on; a target fails if it saved any.cargo denyon the fuzz crate's own lockfile.Where this differs from #779:
nightly.ymlplus aci-label.ymlcase. A crash report gets its own issue rather than a "Nightly build failed" one, and the change doesn't touch files other PRs are changing.seedsbinary in the fuzz crate, notcargo xtask fuzz-seeds, soxtaskdoesn't depend on the engine.libfuzzer-sysis MIT/Apache-2.0. It's actually(MIT OR Apache-2.0) AND NCSA, because libFuzzer itself is under LLVM's old NCSA licence, which the workspace'sdeny.tomldoesn't list.fuzz/deny.tomlis the workspace file plus NCSA. Nothing in the crate ships, so the project's licence policy for RustGIS itself is unchanged.Findings so far
Within a minute,
read_layersandsniffboth hit out-of-memory on FlatGeobuf. A 20 KB file whose feature-size prefix reads as about 2.7 GB makesflatgeobuf6.0.1resizeits feature buffer to that size before reading anything (file_reader.rs:531). On the desktop that's a multi-gigabyte allocation for a tiny file, and in the browser it would abort the tab. Upstream fixed it on their main branch in August (flatgeobuf#507 caps a feature at 10 MB), but there has been no release since 6.0.1.A second, found in the gate's 15 s pass, isn't fixed upstream: a string property's length isn't checked against the property buffer (
flatgeobuf6.0.1properties_reader.rs:176, still the same on their main branch), so a corrupt length panics with "range end index 1090519096 out of range for slice of length 76". The desktop app catches the panic, but the browser would abort. This PR doesn't change either reader. Until the release, the first nightly run will open the crash issue for it; fork mode keeps the rest of
read_layersandsniffbeing explored meanwhile. For the first, the fix is to bumpflatgeobufwhen 6.0.2 or 7.0 ships, or to guard the size in RustGIS before that if maintainers prefer. The second needs a fix upstream, or a check of the property buffer in RustGIS beforeprocess_properties. The other five targets ran clean for 60 s each.Testing

Only the FlatGeobuf out-of-memory above was found.cargo deny --manifest-path fuzz/Cargo.toml --locked check licensespasses withfuzz/deny.toml, and rejects NCSA without it.Related issue
